Guys, my kiddo just told me she changed her major from civil to architectural engineering on her CPSLO application. She has been going back and forth between the two and really wanted more structural. I’m concerned that this could be more selective with less spots? Im just a mom though so I’m keeping quiet about it.
Here are the SLO Target projections. Less spots but also less applicants for Architectural Engineering.
Thanks! This is helpful!
At least they will go for what they want. That’s more important than the school itself - so if not CPSLO, there will be others. But major over school.
Best of luck.
We don’t know yield, but ArchE is almost certainly an easier admit, it’s what your student wants, and there are only 24 ABET accredited programs in the US. I’m surprised it’s not more popular (competitive) than it is.
She was sent an email this week from Cal Poly asking her to clarify first choice and alternate bc of changes made. So she changed back to civil as first choice and Arch engineering as alternate. She was stressing about it. It’s interesting that Cal Poly reached out.
Since decisions start posting in March they are trying to finalize those decisions. Good luck to her.
