I wrote a lengthy email to admissions, voicing my disgust. I’m honestly done. The simple lack of communication is completely unprofessional. I haven’t received a single email from cuse since my interview in January.

I don’t care that covid has made things hard for them or that they have to stagger admissions. It isn’t difficult to send an email to prospective students regarding their admissions decisions or any info pertaining to the situation. Just sad.

Totally get it. Only emails I’ve gotten are about the sales on merchandise at the bookstore. Priorities I guess…

it’s not spring break there - they don’t have one this year - they are open next week

I haven’t even gotten those basic spam emails. I got an email confirming my interview in January, and that’s it.

Other schools (at least the ones I applied to, mostly D1 schools same profile as SU) have not had an issue. This seems to by an SU failure.

Did y’all apply for aid? After I got my acceptance email last week, a separate email with financial aid information was sent like maybe an hour later.

All the other colleges I have applied to, have been thorough and timely at notifying me about any important information regarding my decision. Cuse is the outlier.

Agreed. 100%

I had 3 schools give me decisions today and I had no idea any were coming out, wish my schools couldve been more clear

did everyone get the email from FA about the institutional validation or does that mean something?

Sports Management is tough to get in. Around 10% admission as there are only about 70 in each class. S21 also has demonstrated interest. We went pre-COVID to an Orange day, and he has done one or two virtual “classes”. Missed interview deadline though.

alright if the school is still opened then can anyone find out what the financial aid office’s email is? im gonna try contacting them because I’m sick and tired of this

I don’t know why the Admissions office releases RD decisions this way, over a period of weeks instead of all at once. My daughter is a junior at Syracuse and I’ve been impressed with every department - the communication, responsiveness and professionalism from has been incredible. Especially during the pandemic. Try not to let the way Admissions releases decisions influence your opinion of the school. I agree with many others that Admissions should seriously reconsider their policy of notifying their applicants…staggering the decisions adds to students’ frustration about the process and reflects negatively on the school when it doesn’t have to.

I disagree. The admissions process is the first experience a student and their family have to interact with a school amd should absolutely influence their opinion. It is the first experience prospectives have with a college. This is the sales room. This is where they should show that every student is important and more than a number. They are failing. It seems many students are hanging the first major decision of their lives that will have lasting impact on them and the school could care less.
