Syracuse Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

they said on insta they would release through april I think so it very well could be friday and not before

Nope. Nothing. I got an email back from admissions and they said the decisions would continue to come in the following weeks or sooner. So honestly that could even mean past April 1st

Just received an email from another college (VASSAR) stating that they will release ALL of their decisions at end of business on March 31…imagine that. Communication bundled with a plan. I’m teary eyed…

Good luck with Vassar. It’s quite a difficult school. Only school that has been this bad with communication was Binghamton which is releasing decisions throughout the week (just got in so happy)

Yes. They also deferred many people (like me) and I was above average for their stats. But that just shows how random the process is. I got the transfer option at BU despite many people with better stats who got into schools like Northeastern and UVA get outright rejected. Newhouse is a great option and I very well might accept it.

UCLA is not free or close to free. It’s about $30K for CA residents (to live on campus). Maybe more now. That was a few years ago.

Thank you for the deets on the true cost of UCLA. The cost for SU all in is ~$73k so unless you get ALOT of merit, then UCLA is definitely more affordable. However, the cost was only one factor in why I think UCLA sounds like a better choice between the two—and I bleed :tangerine:! Good luck to everyone who is still waiting; I’ve got my fingers crossed for you!!!

SU increased tuition- $76k now!

wth fr?

Absolutely. UCLA is a wonderful school (both my parents went there back in the day (when it was truly affordable) and growing up here in LA, I’ve had multiple friends graduate from there and now friends whose kids go there. I understand at full price it’s significantly less than SU, but with both of my kids, multiple private colleges with price tags of $60-$78K have ALL offered better deals than $30K, so it truly depends on the individual applicant’s financial need and as you said, scholarships etc. I wasn’t trying to nitpick, just clarify that it’s far from free to attend UCLA. Can also be worth appealing aid offers if a kid is really set on a particular school.

I wouldn’t worry too much about getting in. There are many students who have not accepted admission after realizing they have to pay 77,000k per year. I know people with masters degrees still can’t find a job that will help them pay back their student loans. :unamused: Ridiculous!!

I got accepted Friday and never received anything regarding financial aid, anyone know when I will hear? Very nervous considering it’s so expensive :frowning:

Well now they’re saying it can be released anytime in the coming weeks, though I thought everything would be out by April 1st :woman_facepalming:.

Hi guys. I was wondering if anyone knows how much Syracuse is going to cost. My parents make around 95k a year combined and i dont know if I’m going to be spending a ridiculous amount because everyone seems to be saying that they are spending around 70k. I’m looking to spend around 30k, as it says on google and Naviance for my parents salary range. Does anybody have any info on this? I didn’t get any merit btw.

hey! did you get admitted and receive a financial package? unfortunately, many schools do not understand that even middle class and some high class families can not afford these tuitions. i’ve heard some negatives about financial aid this year with syracuse, and how they also raised tuition but of course that won’t be the case for everyone. plus, private university’s are usually better with giving more money than public. at least from what i heard. and if you are unhappy with the financial aid package you receive, you can always try to appeal for more.

D was admitted and received only her merit offer so far (it was in acceptance letter & also said at bottom that FA would contact her regarding her full aid package). She talked to other kids on reddit and they told her it took about 2 weeks to hear from the FA department so nothing by the end of this week and we will call them. We are wondering if hers is taking a minute bc her package wont be the same as most students for fall, as she also got the discovery florence program (tuition, room and board is a different price etc) and then got a grant to offset the additional cost of it that would also need figured in.

My DD was accepted on the 19th into Newhouse. We drove 10 hours there and back this weekend to see the campus. She’s attended two zoom orientations and is signed up to sit in on a class. She drank the orange Kool-Aid BUT, WE STILL HAVE ZERO INFORMATION ON AID. Her portal is empty. We’ve called the financial aid department twice and their script is that it’s coming soon . . .within the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, we have total transparency with other schools and are heading to BU tomorrow. This is frustrating.

UPDATE: My Slice portal was JUST updated minutes ago.
