The email to “Activate your Net ID” just notes that activation is the first step in establishing/accessing your FA account (MySlice), if you so desire to set up the student FA portal. Why everyone did not receive the email, I cannot answer… To be clear, the email emphasized in all caps that the email was in no way indicative of admissions status and that all applicants have access to MySlice. Like someone noted above, we received the email in December and it was unlikely our application had even been reviewed yet. My Slice is pretty boring and contains little info for now. If accepted (I hope we all are), I would recommend setting it up so you can view your eventual FA package.

Yes I’ve asked S24 if he got an email to set up ANYTHING after he applied in early January for RD. He said no, but I’m assuming now in reading through these posts he probably got something. UGH! He keeps saying they will send an email when they’ve made a decision. I will have him go through emails when he is home from practice later today.

We are just looking for signs of acceptance, I don’t think it means anything anyway. I would not worry about anything.

no and typically they have posted some past acceptance post on various social media sites right before releasing decisions.

To be clear, the SU Applicant Portal is separate from MySlice. Everyone should have received the applicant portal email. The MySlice email does not appear to have gone to everyone (no reason why), but the consensus (in part based on the MySlice email) is that the MySlice part is not pertinent to an admissions decision (just relevant to financial aid).
correct but once admitted it is a big part of managing ones 4 years at SU so if you do have access to it now and are waiting on a decision it is possible that at some point around when decisions are released there will eventually be a link somewhere to accept enrollment but note that there is no way to know from that link appearing what school/major you were admitted to or if you received any merit award. so best to just wait for the decision email to land at 5ish.

Correct- I received mine just after 5PM EST in 2022.

After 5pm, if there is no status update in the admissions portal, does that mean we are in next Friday’s decision batch?
