<p>My D got admitted to the psychology program. She’s a very bright girl with learning disabililities. I’m really worried that the school is so big that she’ll be overwhelmed. On the other hand, I need to respect her strong desire for a “real school” with school spirit, which she’s never had, having gone to small LD schools her whole life. Anyone out there had kids with LD who went to Syracuse? If we could find her a small department–some way of having an intimate experience while also participating in the big school life–I’d feel so much better. She’s not a party animal and is incredibly focused on academic achievement, but she definitely is social and loves the idea of big campus life. I want to be supportive, but can’t quell my anxieties about the hugeness of the place.</p>
