The other night my dad was like “You know you would be into Syracuse definitely if you weren’t applying to Newhouse right?” Which unless it was an odd case would be true which sucks. I just want to know this sucks.
I applied as an English major. I was under the impression it’s not a super competitive major, unless I’m assuming wrong??
I applied for cs major…Don’t know it’s competitive or not. I saw very few people applied cs in this forum. Jesus! I can’t focus on any other thing because of Syracuse 
@CathJR I’m in the same boat as you - my stats are probably higher than the average at SU, but ya know, not for Newhouse. This waiting is killing me, if I had to wait this long to find out I’m waitlisted/denied I’m done
I didn’t know that Newhouse was extremely competitive until a month and a half after I applied to SU with my top 3 majors as majors within Newhouse… yikes i hate myself. if i don’t get in or get wait-listed i’ll be going to a school in the middle of nowhere

assuming a majority of decisions on friday will be waitlists, it’s really a douche move for Syracuse to string those people along all this time just for them to say that. their admissions office is incompetent and everything they’ve been saying on twitter/insta/on the phone/etc to people asking questions is some bull poo poo. extremely disappointing

at this point the most we can do is just hope that whatever us left is acceptances and not rejections (before the waitlist), probably the only thing that will make it worth the wait
My stats are significantly higher than the average for SU, and great EC I would like to believe I would not be waitlisted…
@itsmads that’s why I don’t think it’s just going to be wait lists considering the pool of kids still waiting to hear
@bling0202 I also applied as a cs major. I am just hoping that i get that Acceptance letter. It’s hard to think about anything else when your college career is on the line
@crusadermom17 Oh…I’m sorry. I thought you were still waiting for a decision. I’m sorry she didn’t get into Newhouse . As excited as we are we are now faced with worry about how we will afford it and deciding whether or not the debt will be worth it.

I just called admissions. They said they should have decisions out in the new TWO weeks. She suggested making a deposit and another school as well.

okay spoke to admission… not very optimistic as she was looking at my d file… anyway they will send out decisions over the next 2 weeks. she first laughed and thought it was a bit ridiculous that someone would say what was told to @lac48220 above but then said the same thing. she did mention transfer students but on twitter that is in the next 2 weeks. Anyways… bottom line they send emails out on Friday night.
I still CANNOT believe they only sent out one batch of acceptances! Why Syracuse is so confident about their yield rate?
