Syracuse University Regular Decision 2021 (& 2022)

I really think friday is going to be a mix of everything.

I called and they said there is no guarantee that you will hear back on Friday, she said they’re STILL reviewing and she also reassured that just because you haven’t heard it doesn’t mean you didn’t get in.

@Teddy2017 I think you are correct about there being a lot more acceptances that we don’t see on here or on Twitter. I do believe Syracuse has got to get their act together though. At this point, many people (myself included) have lost hope and are just plain pissed off. Good job Syracuse. I know for sure I will let people know for next year how bad a job they did with their admission notifications. You think they would do a better job considering they are collecting over $60,000.00 per student a year. You have the funds…hire more people to get the job done on time! smh.

Daughter has heard back from every other school. All higher ranked than Syracuse and costing $18-20k less. Good school, but this can’t be helping them.

I’m in the midrange… I interviewed, I visited, my districts representative wrote a letter of rec for me and I’m probably not going to get accepted this is nonsense…

@ryguyee just got a response, the guy was not very specific. He just said they will they are sent in random waves so that they can accommodate to people who have questions as to what their next step is… just saying if I don’t hear back on Friday I’m calling admissions and screaming at whatever poor worker answers the phone. This is ridiculous.

@brianbowman ok but what about our questions? What about our next steps!?

I think they’re lying… that’s why they already congratulated the class of 2021 on Instagram. SMH

hey ive been keeping up with this thread and havent commented yet, but i had my guidance counselor call syracuse today. the admissions worker she spoke to said that the waves are based on location and major and that they already made a decision for me but they wouldnt tell her. i dont know if this helps anyone, but i thought id share!!

@brianbowman lol the whole thing is completely insane.

Girls at my school have already heard, and those who already have have lower scores and rigor than me and the other girl who hasn’t heard yet. That’s ridiculous if it’s by location and both of of aren’t getting in.

so how do they “base it on location”? do we assume that the first wave were ny residents?

It can’t be based on location because I’m in NY and I know half the ppl that applied from my area already got their decision while the other half including me did not

i dont know if what admissions said about location/major is even true but this is stressing me out way too much

@azashadow thanks. just curious because we are in Ohio and haven’t heard from Syracuse but have heard from another school in NY and 2 in PA along with ones in state…

I’m from NY but I don’t have a popular major?? So I split the two variables

If the admissions ppl are lying to us I hope some of them feel guilty about causing unnecessary stress lol

How is location an issue when you are sending emails? I think some of the majors that require auditions might be a bit more time consuming, but other than that they seem like they would take the same amount of time.

I applied Engineering in November. 35 ACT, top 5% of class, great EC’s… really hope I am not waitlisted. One of my top choices.

If I haven’t heard back by Friday… I don’t know what, but something.

Admissions tweeted today that location has nothing to do with the way in which they notify applicants. They say it is a random process.
