I think Evan gets through because he has a different style. For me, it’s kind of refreshing to see him dance after all the endless contemporary dancers. I also think some people voted for him because the judges pick on him.

This year has been disappointing over all. There are no standouts , no Benjis, no Blakes, no Heidis , no surprises like Sabra.

Great show tonight! I thought they were all really good but my vote went to Jeanine. Her solo was incredible.

I’m no fan of Evan but I thought the judges were really condescending to him in their comments. Nigel was the worst but Adam Shankman was pretty brutal, too. It wouldn’t surprise me if he wins.

Jeanine has been my favorite all season and she surely didn’t disappoint tonight! Her solo was fantastic, her Paso Doble with Brandon was unbelievable and she outdanced Kayla (who has never been high on my list, so that is probably just my personal prejudice showing) in Mia’s contemporary piece.
I felt really badly for Evan. There was no reason for the judges to be so negative. He’s in the finals. Deal with it.
Brandon was powerful as always. I won’t be too upset if he wins, but Jeanine got all my votes.

I’m thrilled, though shocked, that Evan has made it this far. He is unique in his ability and style, and so reminiscent of Gene Kelly. There’s never been anything like him on SYTYCD. They lean heavily on the hip-hop and jazz styles without ever really focusing on another kind of dance that America developed and excels in, which is musical theatre dance. I think there has been a grave disservice to a dancer of Evan’s caliber by expecting him to be proficient at jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, etc., but not asking any of the other dancers to be able to do what he does. There are numbers on the show that are called “Broadway”, but they are not a reflection of what is actually done on the Broadway stage. Evan’s dancing has a charm to it that we don’t see in any of the other dancers. I doubt that he will win, but it would be fitting if he did.

I felt so sorry for Evan last night. Told DH it might backfire on the judges for being so openly critical of him while heaping praise on the heads of the others.
I hope Jeanine wins.

Evan obviously has a huge fan base to have lasted this long. Add in a backlash to the really negative comments from the judges and, I agree, he could end up winning.

Jeanine has grown on me. Her solo was great last night.

musicmaker, I’m right there with you. Evan is a joy to watch.

I’d love to see a non contemporary dancer win, but Jeanine is very deserving.

I couldn’t believe the judges were so mean to Evan last night. I thought he more than held his own in the Nasty Boys routine. Seriously, they make it sound like Brandon is a former WWE wrestler who just decided to dance , when he is obviously just as short as Evan, and just as mild personality wise.

Evan did great in the jive, and they still picked on him. Kayla looked as awkward as I’ve ever seen her doing the jive, and they didn’t pick on her.

If Evan wins, he deserves the pay for being their punching bag all season long.

Yay! I’m so happy for Jeanine! She totally deserved to win. I would have been equally happy to see Brandon take the whole thing but I voted for Jeanine last night.

I did love seeing the Melissa/Ade routine again, but it was the Kayla/Kupono addiction routine that was the best one for me. Gave me chills.

Phooey. I thought Brandon far outdanced everyone from the auditions onward. I believe Jeannine won on personality, another Sabra-type win. Kayla was the far superior female dancer technically, which was very apparent in their duet last night. But my real regret is that they didn’t throw $50K at Brandon as they did with second pace Katee last year for being the best female dancer. He was surely the best male dancer. Are they feeling the economic pinch?

In addition to not tossing Brandon a 2nd place cash prize like last year, he never even got his last minutes thanking people or anything. The others all got their say. I feel badly for him.
