SYTYCD Season 10

I’ve really enjoyed almost all the dances this year… a very strong group, especially the girls. I thought Jade was likely the boy to go home this week. Then probably Blueprint if he doesn’t step it up.

As much as Nigel annoys me, he is correct that at the end of the competition personality tends to win out over technique. (Not my vote, though! Then again, I never actually vote so who am I to complain?)

Loved seeing Marko. Such a joy to watch, even when he seemed to dial it back to showcase Malese. Can’t wait for the all-star pairing. When do they start that? Top ten?

Edit to add that I can only watch this on the DVR. I have to fast-forward to avoid Mary’s screeching (she will be getting a bill from my audiologist) and cringingly inappropriate comments from Nigel. Also easily cuts the two hour show down to one hour.

I am enjoying Tucker as well. I think it fascinates me that he is SO TALL and yet so graceful. He was the same height as Cat in her giant heels!!!

I think Fick-shun is too cute for words. He and Amy strike me as the power couple of this season.

I can not believe Jasmine Mason was in the bottom of the pack and went home last night. Thank you Sean Cheesman for “cheesy” choreography on Tuesday resulting in her sub-par performance. Last week Makenzie was undeservedly in the bottom group of ladies but survived. I don’t get how B-girl blond (Mariah?) has survived. Don’t think she is anything special.

Nico’s dad is dh’s physical therapist. They were going this week to see him in person. He was so excited.

VaBluebird, how fun!! I think Nico has the wrong partner and is a great dancer who really hasn’t shown his stuff yet!
Like everybody, probably, I love Amy and Mackenzie and I really love Tucker. I love Curtis’ personality, but his weaknesses are starting to show.

I thought the right pair went home. There are many talented dancers this season, but I still think Amy and FikShun are the ones to beat.

I can’t understand why MacKenzie keeps ending up in the bottom. She might be the best dancer there.

Loved Amy and Fik-shun, as usual. I thought Jenna was beautiful.

Of all the useless celebrity judges that have been on this show, has anyone been quite as useless as Carly Rae Jepsen?

Katie Holmes was worse than Carly, but it was close.

I thought the wrong guy went home…thought the solo of the guy with the cape was pretty lame while Blue-print’s was stunning to me. And I agree: Carly was pretty ridiculous. She had nothing useful to add at all, IMO.

Once dancer that has started to truly stand out for me, in addition to Amy and Fik-shun, is
Jasmine Harper. The piece (quick step) she did on the show last night was pure delight!

And somehow, this opening number did not really appeal to me much. I have only seen it once, though, so that could change.

The opening number did not wow me either.

I think cape guy will probably be the next boy to go, or maybe Curtis. I think Alexis should probably be the next girl to go, but she apparently has lots of fans. I think the judges will save Mackenzie as long as they are able. I really like Tucker, too.

Not loving the celebrity judge format this season. Most simply don’t measure up and it results in a “2-dimensional” judging panel of Nigel and Mary.

I have the shortest memory in the world and can’t even remember who will be partnered together after tonight’s departure. Please remind me.

I can’t imagine Curtis being able to do those lifts in that tango. No wonder he hurt himself.
I agree with Nigel that Amy and Fikshun seem to get the same type of “characters” in their dances each week. I still love them, but it will be interesting to see them do something more serious.

I like all the remaining girls; it will tough to choose one to eliminate in the coming weeks. There are still a few boys that have not really made me pay attention, but that’s good, too, because that means they have not stood out in a bad way either.

What has happened to this thread? No posts for 2 weeks??

Great show tonight, with the “all-stars” partnered with the top-10.

An (over?) abundance of standing O’s?

Not sure how or why Comfort is considered an all-star, except that there are so few hip-hop girls.

Guest judge Debbie Allen was an absolute delight.

One of my favorite girls went home.

All-star Kathryn is an amazing dancer and incredibly beautiful.

I loved the show tonight. I haven’t been a big Jasmine fan, but her number was really fun. So was Amy’s disco. Well, they were all great! The only one I didn’t love was Haley, who seemed just so-so compared to the rest.

I’ve said before that I think MacKenzie was the best dancer on the show. There’s something about her that didn’t connect emotionally with viewers. She has a cool, mature beauty which I guess doesn’t play as well on TV as cute, bubbly beauty. I dunno. But she was stunning in her number tonight.

So glad to see Robert on stage again. He’s my all-time favorite SYTYCD-er.

I loved seeing Melanie again and thought she and Fick-shun were perfect together. I love Debbie Allen!! I kept expecting her to say “You want fame? Fame costs. And right here is where you start to pay. In sweat.”

The dancing on the show tonight was uniformly amazing (do those words even go together??). I agree with the poster above that talked about all-star Catherine. She is breathtakingly beautiful. Jasmine is moving up there on my list!!

I am disappointed that MacKenzie went home and just don’t get the Jenna love. She is my least favorite.

I loved the all-stars and agree that Catherine is a beautiful girl and beautiful dancer. I didn’t even notice FikShun. Was he on the stage with Melanie? I couldn’t take my eyes off of her!

I had recorded it, so I went back with some of the numbers and allowed myself to only watch the all stars (e.g. Melanie, Kathryn, Twitch, Jakob). Robert looks so much more mature now - I thought he was too big of a goofball his season.

Has there been an African American female winner? I think Jasmine may just do it.

Sabra Johnson won Season 3.
