Take AP exams while in the US

Is it possible to take only AP exams while in the US? What kind of VISA would make this possible? Student visa?

I’m homeschooled, they are important to me. It’s very likely I’ll be in the US during the application year.

APs are only given on specific dates and registration is through each high school. You would need to contact a high school where you will be visiting and see if they will allow you to take the AP test at their school. In Texas public schools are required to let homeschoolers that are zoned for their district take APs at their school but this does not apply to your case. You may have trouble finding a public school to allow you to take APs.

Are you talking this year? If so you might be too late to register for AP testing, at our school the last day to register for testing was March 1st. If this is for next year, you should make arrangements for testing before AP registration opens in February.

If you require a visa to enter the USA I think a tourist visa will be fine because you won’t be attending school or staying for an extended amount of time. You might want to double check that - I’m no expert on visa requirements.
