Take the first step to a healthier life by taking part in the American Heart Association’s National Walking Day on the first Wednesday in April. On this day, Americans are encouraged to lace up their sneakers and take 30 minutes out of their day to get up and walk.
Let’s log our minutes walking TODAY and TOMORROW and see if the combined CC community can walk a total of 24 hours between today and tomorrow - enough to cover the whole day! That would be 48 of us walking for 30 minutes or any combo to total 24 hours over the course of the next 2 days. CAN WE DO IT?! YES.
If you take a purposeful walk today or tomorrow, log it on here and with each post, add on your time. So if the total time above your post is summed at 2 hours and 30 minutes, and you walked 30 minutes, you should put this:
“Abasket, 30 minutes, CC Total: 3 hours”
As with all fitness (IMO) if you feel your commute to work walk is worthy, then count it. You’re in the driver’s seat (so to speak!)
Again, personally, if I’m walking from my car in the parking lot to my office less than a 2 minute walk, I’m not counting it. But if you walk 15 minutes to work, I say “yes”!
I would say count running but some people run a lot of miles and I want to encourage EVERYONE to participate and not be bothered by your amount!!! But yes, if your time out was mostly walking, count it!
Great idea, abasket! I’m taking the week off and staying home, so perfect timing. Just walked around the lake. Plan to walk again tonight when H gets home.
