Taking a pass/fail class junior year

Hello everyone, my course selection is in 3 days and I’m planning on taking a lab specialist class, which is similar to TA but specifically for labs. However, my counselor said that she wouldn’t recommend taking a pass/fail class junior year, but my schedule is rigorous enough, I’m taking 4 AP (calc, USH, physics I, and stats) next year.

If I don’t take lap specialist I would do an easier science class such as microbiology or physiology, but is it okay if I do lap specialist?

The main reason why I want to take a pass/fail class is because I want to be validictorian, but also because I want an easy class with no homework that also relates to science since I’ll be busy with 4 AP classes and Spanish 3, but should I take it?

Thank you

It should be okay if your schedule is rigorous enough without it. However, I don’t think it’s a good idea to choose certain classes over others because you think it will help you be valedictorian. Just focus on taking challenging classes and getting good enough grades that you can be in the top 10%.
