Howdy! I am a National Merit Semifinalist (awaiting finalist status) who has been accepted to TAMU Engineering. I was recently contacted to complete my Brown Foundation Scholarship application, and was wondering if anyone that was a previous applicant or scholar would have any insight on the process, timeline, and experience in the Brown Foundation program? Thanks and gig 'em!

Is there a separate application for the Brown FOundation Scholarship or are you referring to the Engineering Honors application?
The Brown Foundation considers all students who are accepted to STEM majors at A&M that are National Merit Semifinalists for a scholarship, but the only information they use is your existing A&M application and your recommendation letters. They were just asking me to send in a second recommendation letter to complete my application. I do plan on applying to engineering honors though!

I haven’t heard yet either, and was also wondering if anyone else had. From what I’ve read in the past, it could be as late as early February that you are contacted, so it could be a while.

I got the email asking for a second recommender and PSAT score sheet in mid-December. I have not received an interview invite, however. If anyone has, please let us know!

on my email it said about 300 will receive interview invite and about 150 will receive scholarship

Here is the timeline of my son’s application process:
9/24/23 : Common App submitted
10/18/23 : Admitted to College of Engineering
10/30/23 : Received email from counselor asking for PSAT score sheet and additional recommendation
11/02/23 : Received email confirming receipt of the above
11/29/23 : Received email saying that you are selected for the interview along with a TEAMS invitation to attend a presentaion by Mr.Brown
12/02/23 : Presentation by Mr.Brown which he was unable to attend due to schedule confict and hence emailed the counselor
12/04/23 : Counselor sent a recording of the presentation. Watched recording and updated the counselor
12/05/23 : Received an email saying you will have your interview soon
12/10/23 : Received a text message from an Alumni on Sunday morning asking for a good time to connect. Connected the same morning. Interview lasted for about 40-45 mins. Just to get to know student better and allowing the student to ask lots of questions. Son said he asked more question than the interviewer did and that the interviewer was very nice and fun to talk to.

yeah! here is my timeline:
10/10 submitted Tamu app
10/30 ish, this is when I found out but not sure exactly when admissions actually released, got into Tamu engineering
12/8 got asked for scoresheets & rec letter
12/26 got link to presentation and request for interview
1/2 when my interview is scheduled for

Did you get any idea of how far along they are in terms of contacting people for interviews, or when the last people will be contacted? I am still anxiously hoping to be interviewed!
