@ronran your stats are impressive. You will do well in college. Not sure how many of any full admits are left. Hopefully some because so many, like you, have great stats!!
what decisions are still alvalible? Just gateway and deny? any acceptances
@cartershack we are hoing for another round of Blinn TEAM early next week but no one knows for sure.
This is my first time to sign on this year. I see people on here believing that PSA offers are considered denials. That is not true. Both of my sons were offered PSA and went to separate A&M system schools. They spent one year in an atmosphere with fewer students and learned âhow to collegeâ with a great support system. They kept their B averages and were GUARANTEED admission to A&M as sophomores. As a parent, I loved the freshman classes with 30 students as opposed to 300 they may have seen at A&M. Both of my boys wanted to be Aggies more than anything so they took the sure pathway to get there. My oldest made great PSA friends that came to A&M with him. They got their Aggie Rings together and all graduated as dyed-in-the-wool Aggies. My youngest is well on his way to do the same. Everyone has to do whatâs right for their own situation. My point is that I loved the PSA opportunity for my children and I will forever be grateful for what it allowed them to do while being secure in the fact that, if they followed the plan, they would be full fledged Aggies soon.
Ugh. My daughter is a tough cookie, but this process is really starting to break her down. Soooo many of her classmates received both Full admit, and lots of TEAM the last couple of weeks. Two of several have awful test scores (one boy we are very close with and physically saw his AIS) and the boy I just mentioned⊠third quarter, 1170 SAT, 21 ACT ? and his is one of the kids who actually got full admit! Of course we are thrilled for him, but weâve been talking with him and his family a lot since we are all in this same boat, and even his mom was preparing him for PSA if not flat out denial. How in the world with this level of competition could he get accepted with those scores?! He does have a sister whoâs alumni, and another sister whoâs in her sophomore year there, so definitely a full fledged Aggie family. Only two of the 5-6 kids accepted had really poor/weak rank or scores, some both. Iâm just shocked because my daughter has a little above average scores, extremely heartfelt essay, great LORâs, and ECâs. Praying this isnât it for her, and many of you who have worked your butts off!
@2xAggieMom thatâs amazing. Glad you shared that. When psa rolls out some will view it that way vs a different path.
@AggieMomhelp I know this has been discussed but for PSA do they offer you a specific campus or do you just pick a system school?
@AggieDreamin they will list the system schools that correspond to your major. Then you select from there.
@AggieMomhelp that might be interesting since BIMS doesnât have a designated path that we can see. Maybe for Biology. Not sure she would take it but options are good ?
@nervoustamumommy that 3rd q stat with that sat score makes no sense. And they really donât care about former students and current siblings. But Iâm glad you said you saw his AIS cause I would be saying that thereâs no way. Thatâs really frustrating to hear. Not sure what else he has on his app that pushed him to full admit.
@AggieMomhelp @nervoustamumommy My son has told me about someone that started in his class at tamu who had similar stats to that and got into engineering. In his case he was a minority and first in family, but has been seriously struggling at tamu.
How exactly does the transfer process from a different school work to A&M? Iâm not feeling too confident about getting TEAM, so I think my next choice is just attending Blinn and then transferring. Would there be a good shot in that happening, or if I really want to be an Aggie should I just attend a school offered by the PSA program (assuming I am offered that)? I suppose my question is how competitive is the transfer process into A&M?
Hi @Blaketflip transferring process definitely depends on your major. Some majors are more competitive than others. If youâre major participates in the PTA program, I would do that, just to ensure you have guaranteed admission. Either way Blinn is great transfer college and youâll me a lot of A&M students that attend both!!

@Blaketflip just depends. Really a personal decision based on major, what you want first year, do you want a sure thing if you meet requirements or are you confident in going to Blinn and doing well enough to transfer. Also what you want for first year. University feel vs cc with access to tamu. Do your research and soul searching. Itâs not a life commitment just a year. Itâll all work out.
this process is definitely getting to me. 30 act, 12% in my class, lots of extracurriculars, and still in review⊠super confusing but i guess everything will happen for a reason, good luck to everyone still waiting
In 2016 my daughter was offered PSA and chose Blinn in Bryan instead. She completed one year at Blinn, reapplied, and got accepted within 2 weeks of applying. Sheâs a junior Econ student now and has no regrets. My son is currently waiting for a response from TAMU and if heâs not accepted heâll go the same route.
I think what I find most bizarre is all of the conflicting information. A&M tells people different things. Yâall say reviews are pretty much complete. My daughterâs HS counselor is telling them the opposite- that not having heard is good news & that A&M has told them they are still in review process
There are nearly 800 seniors in her class & she knows of 2 reviews who got Blinn Team last week, both much lower than her on everything, and everyone is still anxiously waiting
I agree @Mommydoodle. Lots of conflicting info. 3 weeks ago there were 2000 full admits left. That is the only truth I know for a fact. I wish we could get more details. The wait is awful but I do agree with your counselor⊠no news is always good news.
@nervoustamumommy as the mother of a child who worked her tail off to be at the top of her class AND got amazing test scores, the score (of the friend) you mentioned is appalling, and quite frankly a slap in the face to all kids who worked hard to earn the scores needed for automatic admission. That is shocking, and I donât care how strong of an essay or LORs, those scores shouldnât be allowedâŠespecially when there are so many students with extremely high scores who are still waiting.
