Rolling admissions does not apply to review admits, only to auto and academic admits, that once your application is processed, you are placed into your major, as there is no review for the major except engineering.
Very few review admits get decisions before the Deadline of Dec 1 because they must wait to see how many spots are left to offer after all of the auto and academic admits are processed and placed into majors.
Then, are the review applicants reviewed for the different admissions decisions and can be re-reviewed for each one.TEAM usually has at least two release dates. Class 2021 had several dates that all types of decisions came out. We just donât know until they come.
@alstro Your major no longer matters that you applied with if you are offered Blinn Team. You will work with your advisor to follow a transfer course sheet for a major if there is no Admissions Agreement with Blinn & A&M. Mays has an Admissions Agreement that an applicant will sign up for with their advisor.
@Bellaire2828 With no Admissions Agreement, she will follow the Animal Science Transfer Course Sheet while co enrolled in Blinn Team and can apply to transfer after her first year. She will be considered a transfer student to TAMU so exceeding the minimums is vital to being a competitive applicant.
@mrsqster Blinn Team and PSA donât accept 40+hours of DC because there would be no courses left for them to take at Blinn.
High Schools donât do kids favors that want to major in competitive majors at competitive universities by pushing cDC and telling them that they will only have two years left to complete their degree. That is not the case at all. But it is good money for the schools and community colleges. Not all DC classes fulfill major requirements and many degrees, especially if they require professional licensing, donât prefer those classes to be fulfilled in a high school/junior college setting. Schools need to do a better job of being mindful of course requirements for majors and tell the kids to look into those while planning their Dual Credit classes. What doesnât count towards major requirements will eat up the electives spaces except upper level required electives.

@Thelma2 she has 3 history classes plus 1 that counts as polisci 4 english 2 science and 2 math. She wants to teach which is not competitive. I understand that the major does not get you admitted but if all they take freshman year are engineering then come junior year their college of education will be empty. Our high school has a teaching program and none of them that have applied to A&M have heard anything.
I forgot to update this blog for stats! I was offered Blinn TEAM on 2/14 and accepted right away. I am so grateful because I know there are so many students with similar if not better scores than me and am so appreciative of the offer I received.

@Thelma2 so if Animal Science major is offered Blinn Team they have to enter as transfer student after 1 year? Are they able to enter automatically after the 60 hours or is it always as a transfer student?
@Thelma2
I agree with your comments on DC and AP both. I work for a community college in the advising department. Iâve always worked with dc kids. There is a fine line in determining the correct amount. I know a lot of kids mistakenly take PSYC and SOCI or bust their butts on ECON and donât even need them towards their degree. While AP can add to your GPA it canât always make the difference when you do the math. It IS high school after all. Kids deserve to enjoy themselves!
@AMbound
With no Admissions Agreement, they will meet with an advisor to work towards a major and follow the transfer agreement for the desired major.
Students who complete 45 Blinn credit hours and 15 A&M credit hours within a two-year period, while maintaining academic standards, transition into degree-granting majors upon completion of the program through a change of curriculum process (no external application is required), but entering students are not guaranteed entry to a particular college or major in advance. (Entry into many academic majors is competitive based on criteria such as grade point average and prerequisite course completion.) It is possible to transition into some academic majors in less than two years. Blinn Team webpage under Prospective Students http://blinnteam.tamu.edu/
I reverse my statement of the transferring, as just the other day, I was reading about the changes to Blinn Team that were new for fall 2018 and at that moment, I had forgotten. It is now apply to transition via Change of Curricular instead of applying as a transfer. My apologies.
Early Transition Opportunity: After completion of two or more semesters in the TEAM program, a student may apply to a degree-granting major via the TAMU Change of Curriculum process if the student has: maintained a minimum 2.5 GPA at both institutions, achieved the minimum TAMU GPA required by the major, and completed all other entry requirements for the major. Gah! Yâall are making me want to sign in to my kidâs account and check his status right now. Even though I promised myself I would notâitâs his to handle and stay on top of.
As for AP/DC debate. . . at our HS, if you donât take all AP or IB (International Baccalaureate) courses available, it is impossible to crack the top 10% and without any AP/IB at all, you wonât have a prayer at top 25%âmaybe top 50%. Itâs a tough situation in which we place our kids. Iâm not a fan but that doesnât change the way the system works.
Just received this from A&M admissions. I asked specifically about Engineering.
âWe are not done rolling out admits, alternate pathways, or denials at this time. We strive to have all decisions released by the end of February, however historically, some decisions do continue rolling into early March. You could hear anytime between now and early March at the latest. Please continue checking your AIS portal for updates.â
I @daleNchip I agree my daughters class has over 1600 graduating seniors with a 3.99 GPA she is in the 15% rank. she dropped her junior year because she took dual credit instead of AP
@amycakes416 Did she get a Blinn Team or other offer before and now it is just âfinalâ or was this the first indication of an offer? Also, what is her major?
@AggieDreamin This is first indication of anything⊠would email be sent to her personal email or is there somewhere on AIS she is supposed to look? First major was business but recently changed to ocean engineering âŠ
@amycakes416 Go look under manage applications in Howdy. If it say TEAB then itâs an academy. Or look in AIS and it should state the offer. Please let us know.
