@ninamoore19 you got in?? What offer did you get? What are your stats?? Congratulations!
I chose to go to A&M for sure over Texas Tech because I wanted to stay at home, despite what offer i was given. and now my options are to go somewhere else?
I talked to the academic advisor in the department i want to go into (Nutrition Science) and he said if there was an issue to come talk to him so thatās my plan at the moment.
I will graduate this year with 12 college hours (dual credit) and you can transfer in after 24. Iām debating on just applying as a transfer for the spring semester instead and going to blinn for a semester.
I mean isnāt that smart? Instead of moving my whole self away for a year. It would still be a normal transition and a faster way to be an aggie in my opinion.
YEAH!! I got full admission not PSA! I applied for biology and had a 1370 SAT! The rest of my stats are on another page!
@scaredfor4 You of course have to assess what is your best option for you but I feel that Blinn is a very good viable option to get to A&M. My daughter is going that route vs Texas Tech too. We toured TTU this weekend and she said it just wasnāt for her and feels at home in College Station.
@libbyshims If I remember correctly, once you tell A&M which school you choose, I think it is only 2 or 3 days. I would say no more than a week. You can go to the TAMU-CC website and see their entrance requirements. I would think that it would take a few weeks for the program to fill up. And-Congratulations!!- he gets to go to college on an island!!
Im sorry to all of you people who got PSAā¦but honestly I still donāt know if I want to go to A&M. I just dont like the whole Howdy thing and the environment very muchā¦
Thank you all for the encouraging words! So hereās now something for me to stress about until I can call tomorrow: Son has BS Political Science chosen with TAMU-CC. When I go on the CC site- it only has a BA for Political Science. That being said, I did look at the requirements for the degree and compared it to the PSA degree plan with courses required. All the required courses and additional courses listed for BS are available in CC. Will he still be accepted as a BS since he will only be going for one year and the first year courses are available at CC? Would I call TAMU directly or TAMU-CC? I would think if his degree wasnāt offered for PSA the school choice wouldnāt show up on the list for him to choose from, yes? And to think I would be relaxedāhahaha
@2xAggieMom - according to the requirements for admission he would be an auto admit based on his class rank/SAT/ACT scores= Greater than 1170 (he had a 1310) and greater than 21 ACT (he had 26). So that is good, yes?
@libbyshims I didnāt finish my thought. You should know quickly. If he meets the entrance requirements for regular admittance (and Iām sure he does), he should be accepted. The only way that I think he might not is if he waits too long and I donāt think that would come into play for a few weeks.
@libbyshims On the PSA thread, there is a link directly to the CC PSA page on the first post and daleNchip posted some housing info later in the thread. As long as he can take the required courses at CC, he should be good to go to get back to A&M. The System school doesnāt have to have the specific major that is intended at A&M. The major through A&M just has to be a participating one.
I know, very confusing. I gave an example of the PSA thread of how it works.
So do you guys think that I should go to A&M? I mean i got into UT and I think that UT has a better program but Iāve heard that A&M is good to but not as good? Can someone help me out?
Were we supposed to have already applied for the Corpus Christi campus?
@libbyshims Yes. My sonās A&M major is Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences. His Tarleton major is Wildlife Sciences. They told him his temporary major does not matter (āhe can even list undecided for his PSA yearā). The only that matters is his classes must meet his A&M PSA degree plan.
@mrsqster If you choose a school, that means that you are accepting the PSA decision and that is the school you want A&M to send your info to for acceptance.
Most of the more popular PSA system schools have a direct PSA page listed on the PSA thread
@laxmom2000 I took my daughter, who just got offered PSA, to a TTU Raider Road Show yesterday. I canāt begin to tell you how wonderful it was. TTU is a great institution. They really made the students feel welcome and wanted.
@taylorv01 You do not have to apply to the system school directly. You tell A&M which school you would like to go to and they send your students info to that school.
Also, during office hours, you may call the Aggieland Prospective Student Center and they can answer your questions. 979-458-0950
@scaredfor4 are you saying you will go to blinn for the fall semester and transfer to A&M college station for the spring? I thought we had to stay for a year at the system school
@libbyshims For me the great thing about this PSA route is it GUARANTEES you admission into a specific major (if you maintain the required # of credit hours and GPA of course!) - so if itās a BS at TAMU CS then by following the required and additional courses listed for the BS but at Corpus Christi it should be a smooth transition over to the degree prog offered at CS. I feel sure thatās one of the core reciprocal agreements of the PSA prog between TAMU and the system schools it made available to you in its offer.
Also this is from TAMU PSA page⦠āTAMU uses predetermined class rank/test scores minimums to qualify you for guaranteed admission at various System Institutions. Most students are eligible for automatic admission at all 8 System Institutions, but some students arenātā
@thelma2 @2xAggieMom @scotsfi ā thank you all so much! I (and son) will sleep well tonight. Will keep everyone posted about when the official comes through.
@ninamoore19 Move on.
Still havent heard back⦠this waiting is killing me!
