Portal just updated and said I was offered PSA
Just got PSA. If yāall arenāt seeing anything, be sure to check AIS and not just the Applicant page!
alright so mine didnāt change, my change major button is still there, no PSA. Iām probably going to get denied right? because from what Iāve read on here over the past few months PSA is the last thingā¦
@2xAggieMom. May I ask if you were offered any of the other system schools or if any other system school had a major that was close to his desired WFS major at A&M. Thinking itās a very specialised course so perhaps Tarleton was the obvious choice as it was the closest match? Iām really just trying to see how TAMU may come up with possible system schools/majors matches to offer up as PSA pathways to prospective students in addition to the meeting assured admission requirements at each school. Thank you!
Im sorry⦠the options are just making me frustrated cause idk what to pick
@Thelma2 I got the three options of galveston, mcallen, and blinn (not available) for engineering. I was thinking about going to UH for the first year and then transferring to college station after. Would Galveston be a better and more secure option than UH?
Visit both schools, talk with the students and see which environment best fits who you are. Both are good schools.
My daughter just got PSA (lost change of major buttons on Saturday). She is a Kinesiology major. I think I saw another member on this board also with kinesiology. Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on which campus would be the best for an OOS student with this major. Thx!
Any girl need a roommate for blinn-Bryan next year? PM me!!
My son was Wildlife Fisheries major and Tarleton wouldāve been the preferred (due to prox to home) if he had chosen PSA, but it was not offered, only the TAMU system locations. ??āāļø
I got PSA too, really upset donāt know what to doā¦
@AggieDreamin Iām just curious what different advice you got re: PTA. We were considering PTA for Biology.
@aggiegirl88 We thought PTA would be best but the advisor said that she recommends straight transfer for kids with AP and DC. That being said, my daughterās stated major is BIMS but she plans to actually change it to Psychology BS. So you might get different advice from the Biology advisor so I would call and talk to them directly. I tend to think it may make a difference based on what you are coming in with and competitive nature of the major.
@AggieDreamin we have a meeting scheduled with an Admissions Advisor Thursday to discuss PTA (they said they handle all PTAās). I probably should call Biology advisor too though. My thinking was that PTA is better because it is a guaranteed acceptance if requirements are met and with Transfer you have another nail biting admissions process like this one and are put in line behind internal transfers, PSAs and PTAs.
@Scotsfi My WFS son was offered 7 or 8 schools when he got his PSA offer. I believe my Sports Management so was also offered 7 or 8 possible schools. Both had pretty basic bold print classes that were the classes that they absolutely had to take. (Biology, Business Math, etc) I assumed that because most system schools offered those classes, my sons were offered most of the system schools to choose from.
@aggiegirl88 My daughter feels the same way about guaranteed admission (if meeting requirements) and going through the stress again. However, she would need to retake some classes she already has credit for with AP/DC. But maybe for Psychology it is not as competitive so they donāt see the risk that might be seen with other majors that are more competitive.
@ParadiseAggie I am confused. Tarleton was not offered to your WFS son but other system schools were? I agree that it would make sense that he would be offered Tarleton. I donāt know why he wasnāt unless it is full or something. I am curious. If you get an answer, would you let me know?
How hard is it to get in with an appeal after being offered PSA
Got PSA today. We are quite happy. She accepted. How long until we hear from the school she chose for first year.
you can appeal for full admission?! omg i did not know. now iām also wondering how hard it is?
