@laxmom2000 The major they applied to on their application to A&M no longer matters. For PSA, what a student needs to look at is which majors are offered through PSA http://admissions.tamu.edu/psa Look under the Participating Colleges/Departments at Texas A&M University. Those are the only majors available for PSA. If you click on a specific major, it will show you the major course sheet for the PSA program that the student will complete while at the system institution.
Mays/Business does not participate in PSA or PTA so any of the majors falling under Mays/Business are not an option with the PSA Program.
@alstro I wonder if the list appears longer on the PSA portal you are seeing vs the website is because the website has the majors listed under the college/department they fall under and when each is expanded, all of the majors are listed. Are the majors on the PSA portal all in a long list or are they compartmentalized under the specific college/department, like on the web page?
DD got PSA yesterday as well. At least the wait is over. She is looking at plan B which hopefully will be the UT CAP at UTSA option. Iām incredibly impressed and amazed at how students are so set on TAMU that they immediately accept the PSA route. It truly speaks volumes of their passion for this great institution. Iāve always had great respect for TAMU and Aggies in general in my life. Such a great family and strong lifelong bond among them. Iām sure others on CC must wonder why āTAMU Class of 2023 Decisionsā is always in the Latest Feed with more views and replyās than any other college on here. I think TAMU has best ambassadors on this site in Thelma2 and AggieMomHelp. I canāt thank all the posters on this thread enough, including Thelma2 and AggieMomHelp and others for sharing their knowledge, ideas, opinions and anxiety on this journey. Congrats to those Full Admits, Blinns, TEAMs PSAs and all the other pathways to Aggieland. Gigāem Aggies and good luck.
@JJMom With Biology not being a PSA participating major, to do the program, he would have to chose one of the participating majors. Are any of them of interest to him?
@jjjmom UH has some amazing research going on in the field of biology. With the Medical Center just a few minutes away, that is really a strong program.
@friedeggsandham You go to the system school 1 year (ātwo long semestersā is how itās worded) and then College Station for 3 more years. Or however long it takes you to complete your degree. PSA does not add time onto your college career.
The wait is over!!! My daughter (OOS student) received PSA. Iām surprised especially with her strong Math and Science Background and excellent portfolio. I donāt think her selected Major Kinesiology is a PSA major In addition, Iām not seeing a list of PSA school for which she qualifies in AIS. Am I overlooking those details. Any information concerning PSA schools with strong Science/Pre-Med Track programs in the first year is welcomed.
@jjjmom my daughter also got PSA offer and her major is Biology. She has ACT 29 , Top13% from competitive school,
HOSA School president, lots of varied volunteering hrs, did work in Cancer research lab for 7 weeks for 6 hrs every day. I am still shocked but looks like this year is more competitive that past years. Luckily she got admission in UTD with scholarship. Initially she was more into A&M but now she will stick to UTD and will move on. She got capped in UT too.
Thanks to all the people who are helping here and this group is very active group than any others.
