my daughter received her housing assignment email yesterday and her time slot for selection is May 15 at 5pm. I think housing selection opens May 8?? Does anyone know what her changes are of getting a dorm she wants? She is selecting with a roommate and wants modular style on the Northside. Thanks!!

@applicantmom Well if itâs anything like last year, then very slim. North side modulars go quickly, right after hullabaloo. Then southside modulars then commons. If youâre a week after with a roomie, itâs soooo hard to get something. Best bet is to have a bunch of back ups. My son ended up in White Creek and loved it! Itâs on West Campus tho.
@applicantmom my daughter has selection time tomorrow-1st time slot. Weâve been told to have 3-5 housing options, yes even on 1st day. I have heard that the dorm selection times are smaller (per group) and spread out more than last year-which is good! But a week after 1st pull time, your daughter will need many housing options.

I hope everyone had luck on day one of room selection! Can anyone tell how many rooms are still available in Hullabaloo?
We got Hullabaloo!! @AggieMomhelp & @Thelma2 ! WooHooâ:bangbang: 2 bedroom suite, with a view of Kyle Field.
ResLife tried something different this year. Last year they had 5 selection days, with times all over the place, and 2000 kids selecting per slot. It was a train wreck.
This year, ResLife started off 1st time slot (5:00 only) with just 90 students, 200 tomorrow on 2nd slot, then going to 500 (over a period of 12-15 days).
Sounds great?! Hullabaloo still âfrozeâ had glitches. It took 50 minutes, 51 tries to get thru to a live person, who had to manually enter the roommatesâŠbut we got what we wanted! Rooms that were open, had an error once you got in, so no one could pick beds. It was stressful, to say the least!
@Tamore our roommate & mom did the selection, as we werenât around, so I canât tell you how many rooms left. They were going fast, but I do think there will be Hullabaloo rooms open tomorrow, since only 90 picked today. Doubt many, of any, will be left after tomorrow.
You need to have several dorms options, including specific rooms/views/floors in place. Study up and be ready!
Thatâs awesome @52AG82! Hullabaloo is a great get! I wouldnât put too much stock on view of Kyle field. Canât see much over the buildings but to get hullabaloo is awesome. Everyone loves it. Close to sbisa. Northgate (for food not bars) and a Starbucks!!! Congrats.
@AggieMomhelp we are super excited! They wanted the Kyle Field sure, as opposed to train side & Northgate side (heard it can be louder).
Incredibly stressful 50 minutes, trying to nail down that room!

Where can floor plans be found for the dorms? Not floor plans of individual rooms, but for the entire dorm that shows the room numbers?
@CamandCam someone sent me a floor plan of Hullabaloo, but it was microscopic hard to view. Maybe if you google it? You wonât find it on ResLife

@CamandCam we found out the most dorm info from both Aggie Parent FB pages. Lots of parents commented on there-which odd/even Modular rooms were bigger/smaller, I saw the Hullabaloo layout posted at least 2x (again, it was microscopic small-I couldnât read it), couple parents posted actual room numbers in Hullabaloo & what side they faced, etc.
I also contacted friends, who have had kids in Hullabaloo, to see where they were, which room they liked, etc.
If you have selection time today, you will still have options, but if youâre 3rd day or later, youâll just have to grab whatâs available (any dorm), I thinkâŠand try to room swap later.

@CamandCam you should be OK! Only 200 have selection time today. When you log on, if a room shows beds open, but you get the error/code âspecial profileâ, start calling ResLife immediately. Thatâs the error/code we all got yesterday. Beds were open, no holds on the room or beds, but the system wouldnât let anyone select those beds.
I think a few ppl were successful in selecting beds online, but everyone I know ended up having it manually done, via ResLife person over the phone.
Donât have more than 1 laptop/pc opened to Howdy (you run the risk of having your time frozen).

As of an hour or so ago, there were still 15 pages of rooms available in Hullabaloo. Lots of choices from singles to 4 person suites. I got nosey and looked around at other dorms and there are obviously plenty of choices. Its stressful to get one picked out since there isnât a search option to sort thru (i.e. only show singles or only suites, etc). That could be a feature they could incorporate in future years. My biggest advise to those selecting tonight, have the phone number to housing on hand and get ready to call if there are any more glitches. I had to call and it was quick and easy after speaking to someone.
