TAMU Holistic review candidates Class of 2022

If you get Gateway do you still get the TAMU banner? & is Gateway technically better than BlinnTeam?

@CrazyMom23 Animal Science…school of AG

@HopefulAggie200 if you get 2 C’s during the second summer term you are full admission to TAMU in the fall. If you don’t, your out. Its not better or worse. Just different.

@HopefulAggie200 One is not necessarily better than the other. They are both Transition Academic Programs with different criteria. Both are provisional. Gateway to Success is shorter period andallows for full admissions after taking 6 hours during the last summer 5 week session and if a student completes it with a certain GPA, they become full admits in the fall. If they don’t, I believe they are dismissed from the university. No academic probation. Blinn Team is minimum one year. TEAM in Blinn Team stands for Transfer Enrollment to A&M.

So do both still get a TAMU Acceptance banner?

@HopefulAggie200 Yes you still get TAMU banner. With Gateway you enter into the fall as a freshman just like all the rest of the full admits if you successfully complete summer. So we look at it as WIN! Congratulations and welcome to the Aggie family.

All of the admission pathway programs are Win/Win and awesome opportunities. Welcome to Aggieland,

Oh I haven’t gotten any updates at all, just question just in case I hopefully do get a positive decision

My Update time on Howdy went from 2018-1-10 to 2018-1-08. What’s the explanation behind this? Are they reviewing apps in this regard?

I am beyond excited to add that my Howdy changed to College Station Summer 2018, Major: GEST, Program: BAC-GEST as well! Thank you all for answering my question about the Library tab, and for providing some much-needed relief in this stressful time. Congratulations to everyone who received fantastic news today!!

@LeStaphSergeant I don’t think so. When I checked Howdy on my phone it showed 2018-1-08, but on my laptop it shows 2018-1-10. I believe it just has to do with the website.

Congratulations @1agnhousedivided That’s Awesome! @HopefulAggie200 Fingers crossed for you and many others.

@TXagghopeful1 , be positive, if you are really keen on being an Aggie there is a chance till the last date. Don’t give up and withdraw, you’ll regret not knowing what the actual decision was. I am too in the waiting party, applied in July 2017, we all have to wait and see. Good Luck!

Congrats to everyone who got a positive result overnight…still no changes here. Frankly given all the pathways to admittance I’d be shocked if my son gets a straight up rejection, but the fact that his status is the exact same that it has been since September is not making me feel positive. It’s also making me wonder how good the major Universities in Oklahoma really are if he was admitted within 3 weeks of application, yet is still waiting on an answer from TAMU.
Starting to feel like it is just not meant to be, but maybe that is just my ‘prepare for the worst and hope for the best’ mentality.
Anyway, just needed a safe place to vent, trying to stay positive for my kid and not let him in on my anxiety level about all of this.

@txnjenn Son was also admitted to OU engineering very quickly and still considering between it and A&M engineering Galv, which he just received this week. OU is not ranked as high but is smaller program and the idea of having full “campus” experience keeps OU in running. Wife taking him to OU this weekend. It’s son’s decision to make but honestly I think passing on A&M would be mistake. Also considering SMU but much more $$ (that’s where I graduated).

Congratulations to those who got gateway!

@percy0317 Congrats to your son! Just a word of warning, don’t judge OU on the weather, lol. Although this weekend is warmer and less windy than today. When we visited OU last spring it was 40 degrees and raining, we went again in October and it was a much more positive experience. Our son will be fine with OU, but TAMU has been his dream since he was little and when we found out my husband was getting transferred from OKC back to East Texas the dream of being an Aggie seemed to be rekindled.

@txnjenn I grew up in TX and live here again now but we lived in Tulsa for 17 years. Son was born there so we understand the weather and have lot of friends with OU connections. Son has now lived in TX longer than OK so he could go either way. TAMU engineering is the better of the two according to rankings but I think either would be good fit. OU is smaller, which is a positive. Good luck to your son.

nothing from bims still… I’m guessing I’m not going to get in. But I’m going to do blinn since i already signed my lease
