TAMU Holistic review candidates Class of 2022

@Shayne8 Congrats on your admissions to Galveston and accepting your decision. I beg of you, please do not compare our Galveston beaches to your beautiful Hawaiian beaches. While it is Texas land, and we love our little island and we claim it with pride, it cannot claim the beauty, in any way, like your state’s beaches. Lover her for who she is and not her looks.

Nothing here this morning. Fingers crossed the new March 1st rumor that was tossed around yesterday is true.

@GoAggies526 I was told the same thing by TAMU Pahnellenic. Basically that Blinn Team girls are welcome to go through recruitment but there are a few houses that either 1. Their nationals do not allow them to take co-enrolled students. 2. The Blinn Team girls are seen as potential GPA risks - which honestly couldn’t be further from the truth as the Blinn Team students are excellent students and are super motivated to successfully transfer to A&M that they get great grades. Personally, I’ve seen Blinn Team girls struggle through recruitment but I’ve also seen some recruitment successes. IMO I think going into the process with eyes wide opening, knowing that some options may be removed because of the above and that it is out of their control and to not take those first cuts personally.

No change here…

Don’t give up hope everyone. My Daughter’s friend got Blinn last March and at first wasn’t going to accept it. She went down and talked to some people and decided to go. She LOVES it now! No one cares if you are full admit or Blinn. She lives on campus and does everything my daughter gets to do. Her parents enjoy the savings too!
Also when it comes time to get a dorm don’t give up hope either. My daughter had Priority and didn’t get the dorm she wanted. She just accepted one and then a few weeks later found the one she wanted was now available and just got out of the one she was in and moved her choice to the better one. Have patience and know that TAMU is a fantastic college!

nothing and we have put down deposits elsewhere at this point. We have been told decisions can go as 4/1/2018 now.

4/1??? Where did you receive this information from?

@mamma3g April sounds a little too late

In an email. I just went on the website and it does indeed state this:

Notification of Decision
Admission decisions are made throughout the application period. Final decisions will be announced in mid-November for spring admission and mid- to late- March for fall admission through the Applicant Information System (AIS).

Top 10% & Academic Admits
Notifications are announced after your complete application file is processed.

Review Admits
Applicants will be notified in mid- to late- March.

  • I am hoping the 3/1 notification is the one we should believe.

Called admissions and they said for sure all decisions will be out March 1st!

Hi “friends” no change here. I did call the Dallas Fort Worth regional center this morning. A very nice young lady told me her understanding is admissions is trying to get them all out by mid- march. She also indicated it’s a once a week release to her knowledge. Basically - I don’t think anyone but the close inner circle in the admissions office at CST really knows the facts. We have signed up for our back up school orientation session. Just had to do it to secure a spot. If my D gets admitted to TAMU I will immediately cancel so I am not holding the spot and affecting others. I feel bad I had to do it.

Thelma and others - thank you so much for your support. Fingers crossed for all of us this week!!! I am not an Aggie but so hoping my daughter gets an opportunity to be!!

I was told by 2 different offices this Thursday for decisions after I pressed for more details. Hoping it’s true. If not, they should get on the same page and update everyone when we should expect answers and not have different dates depending on who you speak with.

2 days peeps… I believe decisions will be in 2 days! Hang in there. My son is still waiting on Cal Poly and SMU (he was deferred)… TAMU is not the only one that is spending time reviewing applicants. Every single applicant gets reviewed completely at least 2 times (no exceptions). I think that speaks volumes as to the quality of admission counselors and the process they go through to insure everyone gets a fightin chance to be the loudest, proudest member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2022! Whoop.

You got this!

@2018decisions I think you’re smart for having a back up plan. Don’t feel bad about signing up for orientation at her second choice. I would do the same thing. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

@Mominplano This thursday? And can I ask which offices?

I hope everyone gets the decision that they want and wish for, be it this Friday or whatever the decision date may be.

However, If you do not get your favored decision, and are offered PSA, or elect to go elsewhere, I want you to have this page so that you can be an Aggie. It is the transfer course sheet for all of the majors, should you work on your pathway to TAMU, be it at strait Blinn or another Community College or a PSA University.

Click on the college, then the links on the right take you to the course sheets and the links on the left take you to the major’s homepage.

@thelma2 YES… that’s a great resource. thank you for thinking of that! My daughter was given PSA and declined. She went to Oklahoma State her first year and while we thought she would stay there, we made sure every class she took would transfer, at least as an elective! She did in fact transfer with about 45 credits and they all fit nicely into her TAMU degree plan (she’s actually graduating a semester early). It takes time, but it’s so worth doing the research on it. I’m happy to help if need be. I love that kind of stuff!

If I sign up for the NSC am I still allowed to opt out afterwards? I don’t have my financial aid in and I’m still waiting on other schools to send their decisions so I’m not 100% sure I’m going to TAMU (though it’s more than likely). I’ve already signed up for housing but I’m scared to accept my admission just in case of the small chance that I get a better offer from another school.

@ross2729 I posted yesterday around 1:30pm "I just called the Arlington Regional Student Center and they confirmed that all decisions would be out by this Thursday, March 1st. I then called the Admissions office in College Station, the receptionist said “Mid-March” so I asked to speak to an Admissions Counselor. Savannah confirmed that all decisions would be sent by March 1st. I was told that if they are loaded in the morning, the decisions may not show up until after 5:00pm. I also asked about the tabs on Howdy. She said that the only official way to know the decision is when we see something on the AIS page. Good luck to everyone waiting so patiently! " Hope both my sources were correct- really tired of stressing about this.:relaxed:

@likeclockwork48 You can cancel after you have registered for your NSC, it is on the lower right hand corner of your AIS portal.
