@csmom99 She did not say. I was concerned about 7,000 being rejected so she was trying to reassure me that the vast majority were given some kind of offer. I am encouraged to hear that.
wow hope the process works out for those waiting. Some kids just don’t test well though…
I know someone that got full admit end of February (LAST YEAR) with a score of 19 on the ACT… She was top 20% I believe but still… a 19. There is still hope for not so great test takers!!! Have faith!
I agree!!! I think I’m more stressed not then before. When I called and specially asked about test scores they say there is no min score and they really review the over all person incase they just don’t test well. I wish we could talk to an admission counselor. My daughter is taking the SAT on the 10th in hopes to do better than she did on the ACT but it’s too late at that point. She missed the SAT she planned to take bc she got mixed up in some construction on TAMU campus and was 5 minutes late. She grew up in CS so was already considering going to a system school but figured would try this in hopes of at the minimum getting a PSA offer and still getting to go away and experience “going away” to college but knowing she had a path back to CS. We have a faith and whatnis meant to be will be. But it’s still kinda stressful waiting
And see… I can’t even type! Lol so many typos. It’s time to just walk away for a bit and see what happens.
@csmom I’m so sorry if I added to your stress in any way. Please remember that this is holistic and they consider more than just the scores. We’ve got this!
No worries. I really believe every thing happens for a reason. We just have to have faith. We are still hoping for the best and have several back up plans. She is always one that makes the most everything.
“Most of everything”… lol Long day already.
Is doing a change of curriculum from TAMUG a viable option? Is there anything negative about going to TAMUG simply for the purpose of transferring to CSTAT?
@ArrowGreen I was actually considering doing that since my brother wanted me to apply there. I don’t see anything wrong with it, but I’d rather save money by going to blinn for a year and transfer later.
Be aware that TAMUG has a much smaller set and some very different majors than cstat. That is the goal of having the satellite campus, generally speaking.
Well, we were hoping to hear something today. We are going to visit Tarleton this Saturday since she has already been accepted. Still hoping for TAMU.
I know there’s plenty of time before we have to accept a college but i’m starting to stress about getting my housing situation worked out because places are filling /:
@soccer19310 I feel the same way. I’m worried about the housing options that are available.
@ArrowGreen Yes, it is possible to do a change of major from TAMUG to TAMU College Station. My son went to Galveston with a major in Maritime Administration and then changed to Economics at College Station after 1 year in Galveston. I think it is more of a sure bet than a transfer in.
I just spoke with Sarah on chat. She said that she “heard all decicions may be out by mid-march” but sh also said she wasn’t “positive”. Hopefully they will send out a big wave tomorrow, since they haven’t had one all week.
Good luck to everyone who is still waiting on an admissions decision. I know that the wait is hard and y’all are also worried about housing. I don’t know anything about the situation with the dorms on campus, but if your child is thinking of living off campus there will be spaces available later in the Spring.
Last year (for Fall 2017), my daughter wanted to look at her first choice apartment complex before putting in a deposit. The first day that we could go to CStat was on Good Friday (April 14, 2017) of last year, as she was busy on most weekends with her HS Extra Curricular team and her out of HS team. I was quite worried that she was leaving it too late.
But there were still apartments available in that location in mid April and having the opportunity to walk through the model apartment and seeing how close it actually was to the TAMU campus solidified that location for her. And I was also relieved to be able to see that how the security worked for the building. There were still units available in the floor plan that she wanted.
There were also still apartments available at several places, according to their websites. Make sure that you have a list of the locations that you are interested, rank them in your order of interest and keep a worksheet of what features, location, etc are important to you.
When we went up to move her into her apartment in August 2017, there were complexes that had banners “Units still available”. And there were new places that were still under construction last year so there may be a lot of places giving discounts.
Good luck to everyone, may you all get an admissions decision that works for you and may you find housing that suits you!
It is AWESOME to be an AGGIE in AGGIELAND!!
No changes as of now. This wait takes a little bit of my soul every day! Lol Hope it comes out soon. Good luck everyone!
Talked to Secretary Admission Advisory today. Not that good of news… He said that there are going to be some more admits here and there but the next big wave is rejection letters (mid-march). He said they are looking at everyone else they have left and offering a few more so there is still some hope.
