TAMU Holistic review candidates Class of 2022

Nothing new on Howdy or AIS. However, we had a great visit at Tarleton on Saturday. So, at least we have a backup plan.

On the twitter page, they said they would post the next group by the end of the week.

@Buffalomimi Could you ask on Twitter if they mean the NEXT group or the LAST group please? Thank you!

@AggieMomhelp About those offers of housing outside of TAMU, is there any places that are good for students that plan to transfer?

@ross2729 are you inquiring about apartments to live in if going to Blinn in Bryan? If so there is a student complex right across the street from the Blinn campus. http://www.livecollegeedge.com/

@trinley Yes I am. I’m looking for somewhere to stay until I transfer to TAMU. I’m working on my backup plan right now.

Aggiebound just tweeted: “TAMU does not have a set date for all decisions to be sent out. However, the next round of decisions should be sent out at some point this week. We do sincerely apologize for the delays and appreciate your patience!”.

@ross2729 Students that go to Blinn and TAMU live all over Bryan/College Station. There is a nice place across from Blinn, but there are so many options that will work for TAMU or Blinn or both. This town is easy to get around. Trust me, we do not lack in housing in Aggieland.

@AggieMomhelp do you know a place that has the basic necessities and is affordable?

@ross2729 I am staying at the barracks in a 4x4 that is only 5 minutes from Tamu and is $575 a month. I also have a friend who is stay at the reserve that is GREAT the rooms are oversized and just a little over $500 a month.

@Ross2729 park west is a great option, super close to campus. it comes furnished all bills payed with no caps for about $650 a month. lots of amenities and very new, worth looking into!!

@Ross2729 There are literally hundreds of apartment complexes, town homes and duplexes in College Station and Bryan. You will have to do the homework in searching the location you want to be in and the price you want to pay with the amenities they offer.

Here’s a start of a list and their location. Most apartments with multiple bedrooms have individual leases, meaning you lease by the bedroom. So, you could lease one room in a 4x4 or 4x2 for example, and the complex will fill the other rooms. You are only responsible for your room rental and your share of the utilities. They will also ask for a guarantor.

When my son was looking, he picked an two areas he prefered and then looked online at each on. He made an excel with the complex, it’s cost, amenaties, what cost extra (like parking, different sized rooms, view, etc) furnished/unfurnished, etc., then went to visit and made notes on each one. One of his top picks based on paper turned out to have extremely small common area, another had so many add on costs, it made it cost prohibitive. It pays to do your homework.
