DAMNIT!!! I wrote out a post before but then decided there was no point in posting it. Little did I know it would have been the 4500th post! God i should look at the obvious in the future.

Any chance we could get to page 500 by, say, the end of May?

dude…thats so gonna happen^

im probably gonna take a hiatus after this wknd (IB exams… anyone else in the IB boat here?) but in the first week of May i know i’ll be checking this site like crazy!

5000 you mean?

sure lets do it. Wait, maybe not. Last time we made a deadline it was to reach page 300 by the time decisions got mailed out. That never happend.

haha with the rate its going (2 posts in the same minute) page 500 doesnt seem too far off

lol…sorry i didn’t post at 9:37!! I was reading about the Hampshire college halloween party ;)

Sorry to be putting us back on topic (:P) but I had my interview yesterday! Mine ended up being over the phone, but it was still very engaging and we got a chance to discuss some really thoughtful topics. I’m not sure how I personally did, but I do know that if my interview was any indication of what life at TASP is like, my craving to go has just increased tenfold. I never knew I could get so emotionally attached to a summer program!!

stares longingly at the countdown calendar to May 1st posted very conspicuously on bedroom wall

Glad to hear it, inkspill! Hopefully May shall be a scrumptious month to us all.

Oh, if anyone’s curious, my interviewer (Ellen Baer) shared some info. with me regarding interviews. Since she told me, I’m sure it’s all safe to share:

After the interviews, your interviewers write up reports of your responses etc (see Aida’s post for more info. about that). Then, final deliberations take place the last weekend of April. We should know of our status by May. gulps

May 1st, right? I think my interviewers told me May 2nd-3rd, something like that

Is Ellen Baer in the committee (sorry about the capitalization earlier on, Karen ;-))?

Lol. Ellen Baer is the head hancho of TASP.

Yeah, they read ALL the essays.

Well, Cor, that’s what the official March 1, 2007 letter said.
They could’ve changed it. shrug

And indeed, early May…first week, usually. :)

AAAAAHHHHGGG is all I have to say.

Thank you for the very informative post Aida, but it freaked me out even more. Hopefully, my PASSION (seriously, I love it) for history came out in my essays, because it sure wasn’t a topic of discussion in my interviews.

However, teaser: nudity was. =O (not my own, dirty old man)

Yeah, the interview made me want to go more, and every day this increases. I swear, by the time April 31st comes around, I’ll be walking around hunched over from the weight of my need to go to TASP.

Has the COMMITTEE discussed my application yet?

Aida, should i be worried if my interview is on the 21st? (you mentioned something about it having to be done by the 14th)

NYC meetup is a must. Even though I wasn’t the most frequent poster (and was denied!), you guys are still awesome. Question is, when?

I’ll be in town from the first week of June (NO FINALS woohoo!) until whenever.

post when you’ll be in town, then we’ll go from there

I had my interview today. My interviewers were such friendly, intelligent people, but they really picked me apart. I still came out of the interview feeling…inivigorated. BUT it make me feel very stupid. I want to go SO MUCH now…:(

Sheep

Aida. Are you questioning my information!?!?!

:-P JP I don’t know.

I know I heard the 13th as well. So maybe that was for all of them.

And by no means will you be at a disadvantage because they scheduled your interview on the 21st. It was out of your control.

lol nate, i agree with you, grindhouse was amazing.

though some parts were kind of “i’m laughing only in knee-jerk irony because otherwise i’d be recoiling in disgust”… like the cheerleader on trampoline part in Thanksgiving, and the enforced castration (is enforced redudant here?) in Terror.

but the car chase was amazing, dialogue was great. tarantino is a movie god.

COREY! WHY ARE WE NOT AIMING?!

Um, well, the interviewer manual does say that you’re at a disadvantage if your interviewers don’t hand in the stuff on time. Sooooo yeah. Doesn’t make sense; or at least, it’s not fair for the students.
