Tasp 2007

yes she was Indian whats her name?

She was really cute :-P

It was so funny because my mom was answering her question but she didnt say it out loud like she wispered to me and I just started cracking up, then she owned the woman.

I don’t think being a teacher would be a waste of talent. Teachers NEED to be brilliant in order to motivate students. Just think that some of the kids that go through your hands can turn out to be the leaders of tomorrow. You could SERIOUSLY change kids’ lives. That’s simply amazing. Profs make more money, that’s true, but you could do that for a while and then go back to HS, or do the opposite. The main thing is get enough money to get by and not DIE, but be happy while you’re doing it. Or compromise for a while, but be happy in the end. Something like that. That’s why I want to be a HS English/Spanish teacher. If I teach English, I’ll go back to PR, perhaps. If I teach Spanish, I’ll stay in the U.S… But…really. I have NO idea what the future holds for me. Whatever I wind up doing, I just want to be happy and helping the world. Anyway, Tako, really. Being a teacher is amazing. I am close friends with an elementary school teacher and she is SO brilliant. Not in the omgnerdy sense, but in the…just…she can REACH kids. She is so creative and wonderful and DRIVEN. I LOVE her. I wish EVERY child could be taught by her.

I want you to teach my kids, Jennyyyyyyyyyyy! grin

Hey, never give up. Work for that full-tuition scholarship; you just might get it. Heck, I did. :stuck_out_tongue: Took me by a huge surprise, too.

It seems more fathomable that you’ll be an interviewer before you’re a factotum, but that’s just me.

And Mintie: your friend scares and disturbs me greatly.

COREY FOR PRESIDENT. I’d vote for you. :stuck_out_tongue: The Uncommon App is SUPERFANTABULOUSOMGAWESOME. But yes. I’ve heard sort of bad things about UChi (as well as the whole “It’s where fun goes to die! It’s where the BAD nerds go!”), too. But bah. You have a year to pick a college, kids. :stuck_out_tongue: YOu can visit, weigh the pros/cons, and all that later. Just chill out for now.

I’d love to be so many things. DANGIT! I SERIOUSLY hope there’s something after we die. Not Heaven or Hell, but like…another life. I REALLY want that.

Paris Hilton should just give me her money. That’s what I think.

Yeah, see that’s why I want to be a teacher ^^

That’s basically what I said in my future plans essay, ha ha.

haha Paris Hilton! XD

Also on the note of Uchicago, I am visiting before I go to TASS.

Haha yep my mom agrees with those accusations of Chicago.
most ppl don’t believe her when she says she went there. Her socialness and presences are very Atypical of the place.

But at the same time you have Chicago, and my mom had a large friend base that were locals.

I lost the election :frowning:
But now I am going to be head of dance commission.

My Umich teacher (the one who is taking me to zingermans) was there when I found out, and she was like. But hey your going to TASS.
Pretty much sums up how i feel about everything

(was talking to Ink about this)
I thought this quote in my acceptance letter was strange:

seems so un-Telluride

Also sort of a –>Tangent

Uh, yeah. And what’s Indian University ;)

That’s so weird! Really? What’s up with TA and that? It’s like, bragging, my goodness.

i know. and they write that like Umich will do anything to get me to go there-- So wierd.

Yeah…that is really weird, lol.

OKAY sleep time :D

And Corey, you lost? To who? Was it at least somebody who’ll do a good job…if not, I’ll bike over to Saratoga and…do stuff.

haha. I lost to a Typical grade grubbing whore who needs to be in school government to go to a good college. (Lol i classify about 98% of my school like that)

Ummm i guess she sort of helps out with stuff, but I do so much more. I don’t really care, because I plan to put more time into the East Palo Alto Charter School adoption I’m spearheading. I also want to look into providing support and resources of AP and Honor level classes at public high schools in that area. Sort of leading an urban school reform. Ambitious yes, but I really want to put in on my applications (NOT!!!)

FYI: East Palo Alto (EPA) is a “ghetto” I use that word with its original denotation not its negative connotations of today. Basically the town of Palo Alto= very wealthy good education yada-yada, but EPA is on the other side of the high way and generally black and Hispanic with high crime rates and less than good education. Yep

I like how all the ppl on here are into education. I like it

Oh, Corey, we’re already friends  My initials are RM

PS Chicago is awesome!
PSS Tako, I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes I just want to sabotage the applications of every annoying/insincere person that applies to Chicago for the heck of it. Heehee

Ah, those crazy grade and extracurricular grubbers.

How pointless. Why do something if you don’t put your heart and soul into it? Waste of a year.

YAY! Letter with forms came today!

unimaginably wide grin

Aww Corey! It sucks to not get the position you were running for. :stuck_out_tongue: I lost once to this guy who basically told me at the beginning of the year how he was trying to be nice to everybody so he could get elected (and go to Stanford or something). Yep… Not that he didn’t deserve the position because I’m sure he’ll do a great job, but he still kind of creeps me out…

I don’t think I would have won anyway since I’m new, but hey… I can still speculate. :D

Yep yep :D

i got them too, inky! =D

Wow so many medical forms. A little intimidating, I have to say

Oh, yes…is the May 31st the postmark deadline? Or should the whole package of forms be received by the Telluride office by that date?

It looks like Washers will be living in greek housing this year (whereas last year we lived in dorms) which will be fun. PLUS, theres air conditioning - whoooo!

How does everything get to Washington before California???

Thats so exciting! So did it have some more details of accomodations and the like in the packet?

Was ther a letter from the factota

Nope, no factota letter, strangely enough. Boooo
