No details yet, Cor. I only know about the housing situation because there was just a very general, unspecific letter from the director of Greek Life at WashU., basically saying how we’d be living in Greek housing and thus should respect the property etc. Everything else in the letter was pertaining to rules and regulations/release forms/medical forms/etc. I believe our factota letters will be coming within the next few weeks.

i got this cool viewbook thing in the mail from uchicago today. I would love to go there but for grad school, not undergrad. Anyway it was nice to read and to spark up two different convos with my dad. One on how much money colleges spend just so people will apply to their school and the other was over a half hour long on the cultural differences between ny and chicago. Not completely cultural just how segregated chicago is and how horrible the south side is. Unless it has changed since he lived there, it seems that uchicago is in a horrible area. I’d hate to attend a school where i couldn’t even walk off campus.

Anyone could correct me if i’m wrong. His experience was back in teh late 60’s early 70’s so it could be completely different than nowadays.

holy ****! everything has to do with uchicago today!

not only on this thread and in my mail but in my email and my friends just started talking to me about it AND that cool google homepage of “places to see” has a pic of uchicago and says it is a campus everyone must visit. ***!!!

we had a practice nhs induction ceremony today and I managed to screw up everything! It was so much fun watching my advisor become frustrated with me. She hates me to begin with. =P I even paid the person who’s reading my bio $10 to ad lib it and say something completely fake like “Karen likes hangin with her posse in da hood of ob”. yeah…she hates me too cause i think i’m the only one in nhs that knows who the ramones is let alone wear a shirt with a pic of them and wear ripped up jeans that have writing all over them. So what if I’m not the picture perfect honors society spokesperson.

I love the University of Chicago. It’s just such an intellectual cool place. It kind of reminds me of this one summer program in UT Austin that I am going to.
