I bet my friends $10 that I would trip walking down the stairs during the middle of the ceremony tonight. Hopefully I’ll have to pay them >_<
Oh and on top of that I don’t want to go to school tomorrow!! My english teacher piled on 6 things all due tomorrow including reading two books, one essay, a packetful of questions, a project and a test. then i have an engineering quiz too. i’m so screwed.

For all you Chicago fans. They have a new magazine. The new one comes with University of Chicago Magazine, and its called:

The Core

Really interesting, well done publication (for tako who appreciates that stuff) and the writing quality is what you would accept from Chicago, but accessible.

Im not sure if prospies can access it online or something… I will have to give it to you Jenny next time I see you.

I say you and I have a co-op meeting to discuss espionage on the InterTAS(S/P) level.

I just got the UChicago viewbook. To repeat the already mentioned, it is fabulous. I’m so mad at Brown U (but not mad enough not to apply early D) for never sending anything. I swear, the only letter they sent is fully boring and they won’t even send me the viewbook/app until august. What’s with that? I love this school. Why do they have to be so cold when everyone else is so inviting? (full color fabulous viewbooks, newsletters, letters telling students how fabulous we are and how madly they want us to attend their school…) alas…[sigh]

hi UMicker! =D whoa, that’s insaneee, you’re going to brown next year?? you’ll be with aida =O (aida is the TASP mother on this thread). and join our facebook group if you have a facebook! i think 11/18 of us are on there.

question regarding applications – I haven’t read the whole thread (413 pages – yikes!) – but what if you are not in the US? My son has been waiting to apply, but he will be in the UK next year for school. he is a US citizen and permanent residency is here in the US. Do they make arrangements?

hsmomstef, TASP is international. It doesn’t matter what citizenship you are, as long as you get accepted. As for travel arrangements, if you need financial aid to travel there, they will provide monetary aid. People who can afford their own tickets/gas go to their respective seminars individually.

I dropped my laptop today =( See I bet my friend he could could stop cursing in my presence (he couldn’t curse more than 15 times) but of course, I won. Obviously he wasn’t willing to pay me so i guess he said something bad after I demanded the money because all I remember happening was me punching him and watching my laptop fall to the ground with no time to do anything. >_< Yeah, the battery fell out so right now it’s being held in by tape and my screen…haha. Basically the whole bottom left corner and top right corner are blcak with cool lines connected the two black spots. Then the pixels are all messed up in the rest of the screen so theres random lines of blue, pink, green, and purple. It’s actually quite pretty if the screen is completely black.

Thank god for ebay. Only $40 to replace the screen so I can probably manage it without ever having to tell my parents. =)

Trinity… er Williams (w/e)! Yay UMich! will see you there, most likely through Jenny or Susan (YOu will get to know them real soon :-p)

Brown didnt send you anything because they love the environment and all the other colleges just destroy it through glossy brochures that you look at once and throw away. Also they sensed your “mojo” and it was so strong that they knew they didnt have to kill the environment to get you to apply. They just already love you… Thats my guess at least

onegoodgirl: props for quoting Rafiki and I really like your name. ^^ OMG! You wanna go to Brown?! excitement I’m going there this Fall. (so yes, I’m Aida, Miss Mother Hen TASPer) Woot. I want to see their viewbook. -O.O- I never got ANY cool stuff from them. Betches. I DID get tons of goodies from Swarthmore, so yay! Seriously. Swat is awesome. Brown is still awesome, but they hand out less cool stuff, lol, if any at all. Oh well.

55/60 on the Portuguese test. That’s what I get for not memorizing the “futuro do presente” for the verb “fazer”. Damn irregular verbs. I didn’t know we’d be testing on those. Whateverrrrrr. I’m DUNDUNDUN.

"And ppl care about Aida

I got my phone bill back today :-P

Lots of calls to Puerto Rico, and all of them are really long. :-P"

YEAH UM. My mom was like WHAT IS THIS CALL?! One was to you and one was to Uber. Huzzah, California! Huzzah, British Columbia, Canada! grin Yeah. So I have to cut up calls into smaller chunks so she doesn’t throw a fit. XD I’ve had longer calls before, so I don’t know what’s her deal. Blah.

Oops. I didn’t get any email notifications that this thread had updated for awhile and I really thought it was dead. I didn’t realize my login had expired.

I have a scarily Hallmark story about getting the TASP brochure in the mail:
I got the envelope in the mail, opened it, glanced at the brochure, saw the quotes and the layout with all the pictures and the program dates and went, “Hell, no. I’m going to Missoula to be an auntie this summer and I cannot pay you $6000.” But then I saw the bit where it asked you to read over the whole thing before deciding whether to apply. So I looked the brochure over again and saw these words:
“Telluride Association Summer Programs are free.”
I started crying. Hallmark out.

Anyway, the next day (I got it just before I went to bed), I spent a ridiculous amount of time googling TASP because I figured it was way too good to be true and they were going to sell me into white slavery or something.

Ahhh, Giantredlobster, I love your “mojo” theory. I feel so special. Hi musechick/Aida. How fabulous that your going to Brown. I have to wait an ENTIRE year before I get to go. What’s your concentration? Oh, and great to meet you Jenny Sun. To answer your question, I found out about college confidential when I was online researching Brown. I never came to the forum part of the site though. Actually, the other day I googled “I got into TASP 2007” and this is what came up. Three Cheers for enthusiasm, huh? P.S. Lindeek, where exactly is Jettenbach, Rh-Pfalz, DE?

It was the exact same for me. “Ugh, another get college credit for only $5,000 for seven days program. Wait…six weeks. Wait…IT’S FREE holy hell look at these amazing topics omg I’m going to apply”

Telluride is just kind of awesome like that

I didn’t get a brochure, but I knew I was applying since SUMMER 2006! I actually wanted to apply to TASS, but thought it was only for African Americans…that picture is misleading, GRR.

I actually found out about TASP by, er, stalking other people’s xangas. This one girl (in like June 2006) was like, I’m going to apply to TASP! And I was like, oh what’s TASP! The thing is…I don’t know her. Haha. Err yeah I’m a stalker. But I googled it and fell in love.

Anyway, I forgot about it for a year until like January when I was found this thread and was like OH YEAH TASP I NEED TO DO THAT. Then I did my essays the night of the due date, and TUH DUH. I am here.

I am excited. The AP test for US History is done, so I am done with school (Chem, English Lang, WHO CARES? Okay, yeah, I do. But no, I am done with school. Shush.)
