TCU Class of 2024 Discussion

@miichael Yes, I think you should still be able to apply to the Honors College, it will just take longer to hear back.

Accepted EA
33 ACT

Texas
Nursing
Dean’s Scholar
Really excited but hoping for Chancellor’s invite…wondering if there’s anyway I can still be considered or make an appeal for it?

@SuperfrogFan Do you know if the admissions rolls out the chancellors invitations for early action admitted students or not?

Does anyone know when the acceptance letters will start coming in the mail? I was admitted ED last Friday and I still haven’t gotten mine.

@frogmom24 I saw the post that said someone was notified in January, which I had not heard of before. I don’t think it would be rolled out; my best guess is that some EA applicants who are invited choose another school and notify TCU of that, so they choose a few more people to invite to Chancellor’s weekend. I believe they try to stick to a quota +/- a few, around 120.

@bella628 This also might be helpful to you as well. I don’t think there is anything you can do but wait and see if you are notified in January, but I don’t know the selection panel’s methodology.

What are your extracurriculars and experience for nursing? I have 32 ss ACT, 1330 SAT, straight A’s at a very rigorous private school (does not rank, class of 21), participated in Waco TX’s Ascension Providence Medical Mission at home where I learned to take blood pressure and assisted with dental extractions, took a 7 hour CPR and first aid class and am now CPR certified for 2 years, and interviewed an RN. My Nursing supplements are very strong and I am a gifted writer, play 2 sports, 2 instruments, was NHS secretary, youth group leader, etc and have won lots of awards, including a silver medal on the nat’l French exam, regional winner for science fair, Duke TIP finalist (idk exactly what it is but I got a medal) and state semifinalist for Student Affiliate Piano Competition. Is it common for EA Nursing Applicants to be deferred? I’ve been accepted to Baylor, UTulsa, A&M, Tech and am waiting on UT Austin. If anyone has any input, that would be helpful!!

I have these same experiences and was deferred. What are your scores and extracurriculars?

I have higher Test Scores and GPA than you, what are your extracurriculars?? I got deferred from Nursing :

My D loves TCU and was also deferred for Nursing. She has not given up hope and still would love to attend TCU for Nursing. It looks like the field is very competitive this year and congrats to all who were admitted EA!
