This is the official discussion thread for Texas Christian University Class of 2030 RD applicants. Ask your questions and connect with fellow applicants.
I was told by Mike Mooneyham, the Director of Undergraduate Admission, that TCU has over 25,000 applicants and space for only 2800. Does that make the acceptance rate 11.2% or does it not work that way?
It doesn’t work that way. Colleges accept many more students than there are available spaces because they realize students are applying to many schools (but can only accept one offer). Based on my quick Google search, for the class of 2029, it looks like the TCU yield rate was about 25% – which means only one quarter of the students offered a seat at TCU will accept. So, in order to fill their class, TCU will need to give out roughly 4x as many offers as seats. Hope this makes sense.
Will RD come out this week or next week? @FrogFan001
And TCU RD is out today.
