I think they are doing it differently this year and its by January 20th. And i went back and interviews did used to be on a Saturday and now its Sunday through Tuesday.
I don’t know that 2 to 3 days off school for people who travel is a reasonable ask, but of course you do it for a shot at a full ride!
My daughter applied, but nothing was mentioned in her acceptance letter only that she got the Dean’s scholarship which was more than we expected based on her stats she submitted. I’m wondering if that was her consolation prize for not getting a Chancellor’s invite?
Same for us. Deans was better that we would have expected based on the UW GPA chart that they posted (D24 took rigorous math and science despite being a “humanities kid” and had a couple B+ from Covid year) and SAT was a touch light for Chancellors, so I wasn’t at all surprised that we didn’t get it. But I haven’t seen anything anywhere about anyone receiving them, which makes me think they are doing it differently this year and that they did not go out with the acceptance letters.
We have not either and were accepted in the EA group. My older daughter did ED to an Ivy, was accepted via email in December that year, and we never had anything via mail until mid-April after the regular acceptances had gone out as well. This may be what TCU does as well.
Has anyone received a Chancellor’s Invite yet? Trying to plan our visit to TCU, but awaiting to see if S receives invitation…won’t have much time to plan flights if he does.
I haven’t heard anything. I think it’s just “by January 20” so it would be next week, I would think.
So many schools are doing things differently this year! I have just reconciled myself to the fact that Baylor isn’t going to be sending out any merit information until after Feb 1, despite having done ED in mid January and EA before month end for years…
We haven’t visited yet, but don’t plan to if we don’t win the long shot Chancellor’s lottery. I just don’t think the Dean’s is enough given how they have been increasing tuition.
My daughter is a freshman at TCU. I just joined this thread bc my son is starting the application process for next year. I looked back at my 2023 calendar and we flew out to TCU the weekend of 2/9 for the Chancellors weekend. I don’t remember when we got the invitation though. Hope this helps.
Our son hasn’t received anything either. He was awarded the Deans scholarship as well. Hoping that maybe he would get an invite but looking like that is a long shot. We have our older son at TCU already in Neeley and with the tuition increase and Neeley surcharge it has gotten expensive!
We haven’t seen anything. Website says by 1/31 (next Wednesday). I assume they get an email and it shows up in their portal.
Does anyone know if Honors applicants are notified of acceptance or declined - or is it just those being invited that are notified?
