Is she also asked to submit her Fall 2024 grades into the portal?
Yes
Anyone know? Since FAFSA isnāt even out yet (we filed the CSS Profile), will financial aid letters still come out in next week or two?
OOS daughter accepted with Deans scholarship. 4.0/4.57, 1410 SAT submitted, 5 APs, many honors classes, 30 hours college course work, strong debate team record and senior year on a CC team, year long internship at a history museum, worked all four years of high school, average volunteer hours, founder and president of a political club, ASB, many other activities.
No mention of honors or Chancellor scholarship ā¦but hoping to get invites
Are we competitive for the honors or chancellor scholarship with above stats?
Congrats! My D accepted ED TCU same to-be Neeley. Intāl student. God bless you guys!
Ole Miss, Alabama and Montana State are all excellent schools. They all give a lot of merit aid for OOS kids too
The OOS Merit aid was why I originally put them on my sons radar! Every advantage helps. No one wants to hear about how hard it is to pay for college for 3 sons. No one feels sorry for 2 parent homes in my salary bracket but college is crazy expensive
Does anyone know how many Deans scholarships are given out ? And are most of the Deans scholarship recipients invited to chancellorās weekend? We are trying to plan a trip to Texas to look at schools 2 weeks after thisā¦but I donāt want to fly out there twice. The dates of the chancellors weekend will be really tough for us ā¦but we could rearrange if necessary. I was trying to tie this into a sports competition in Dallas for another child a different weekend and I really need to make reservations before January 20, when they say they will notify by. I wish I knew of she was in the running or not.
It seems like Chancellors invites came with EA admissions for the last few years. I am thinking that we are just out of luck. I donāt know if it has always said by January X or not.
Going would have been a challenge for us as well. WHO does this on a Sunday through Tuesday??? I mean, we live in Texas and it would be the most difficult to attend scholarship event (not weekend) at any school D24 applied to. We are already going to Baylor for Invitation to Excellence on February 9.
I am thinking the same thing, based on previous years admissions. I would hope they would tell us sooner than later.
I was told they hold the event during the week when classes are in session
I guess Iām not surprised that we didnāt get one, but it is rather surprising that it seems no one on CC did.
TCU admissions posted on instagram today that there were 15,667 applicants in the admission pool for ED and EA.
According to the common data set, last year there were 16,197 applicants TOTAL!!
If they already have 15,667 before ED2 and Regular Decision, Big Increase!
I think that number might be from the incoming class of 2022. For incoming 2023 they had 20,517 total applicants with a 42.6% acceptance rate. The acceptance rate for 2022 was 56.1%. Looking at these detailed stats this evening, I didnāt realize that TCU was so female heavy. For 2023, 1572 of the 2488 enrolled freshman were female. Wow.
You are right. Thanks! I had the same realization about gender when I was looking at the data (from the wrong year!) Where can I look at the 2023-24 numbers that you provided?
Thank you so much for your help for all of us! Any idea when financial aid letters might be released?
A quick google search led me to the TCU site: Institutional Research | TCU Quick Facts
Has anyone received Chancellorās interview invitations? Trying to gauge chances there.
