Would guess somebody in management said don’t make any promises- technical issues could happen. I’ve never seen anyone say by versus coming out at -so it’s risk management here.
Good luck everyone!
Rankings are changing and so many schools are falling in rankings; specifically, private schools. That says nothing about the school and TCU admissions said the applications were up this year. SMU also fell in rankings and has received a 40% increase in applicants. People don’t care for ranking anymore because it says nothing about the school.
ED is out
Because they released early
DS accepted ED!!! SO HAPPY!!!
Congrats, do you mind telling what the acceptance letter says. Did it talk about this year being more competitive
This is the letter:
Congratulations! On behalf of the administration, faculty and staff of Texas Christian University, I invite you to become a member of our next class of Horned Frogs. We believe your successes in high school have prepared you to contribute to the impressive tradition of TCU.
You are approaching the most exciting years of your life - a time for learning, meeting new people, and developing a sense of independence and awareness. TCU will prepare you for a fulfilling life and career with the leadership and communication skills necessary to contribute to the global community.
TCU has long been known for combining a strong academic focus with opportunities to learn beyond the classroom. These experiences at TCU will provide the foundation for a lifetime of personal and professional achievement.
January 15, 2025 is the deadline for notifying us of your decisions regarding acceptance of admission, scholarships, and financial aid.
I look forward to seeing you on campus!
My daughter got in too - she’s beyond excited!
Our daughter applied Early Action so we have a few more weeks before she receives her answer. For those who went Early Decision, did your notification include any details related to Merit Scholarships?
Son accepted into Neeley - TCU scholar which is $100,000 over 4 years. Very excited. Go Frogs!
Congratulations to your son and the other ED success stories. Would those who got in mind sharing the stats so use EAers can daydream and stress at the same time?
Congratulations! Such an exciting day!
That’s fantastic! Congrats to your son!
Of course! I think my son’s acceptance is a reflection of TCU’s promise to look holistically at a student and consider more than just their GPA and test scores.
My son’s in a somewhat unique situation as we’ve lived overseas most of his school career (his current school is his 8th). He’s at the top international school in Portugal now and will graduate with a full IB diploma. His school does not do class ranking or weight grades in any way. 3.3 UW, 1200 SAT, predicted IB test scores were 6’s and 5’s. For extracurriculars, he plays in a men’s baseball league, the only one in Portugal. He’s also a volunteer assistant coach for a youth baseball team. He did a paid summer internship the last two summers at the U.S. Embassy. His essays drew upon his life experiences as a third-culture kid attending school on 4 different continents.
Hope this is helpful and good luck to all still waiting!
Fantastic! My son was just accepted so he is very excited. My wife and I both went (as did a lot of other family members) – if you have any questions about the school, Fort Worth, etc., please let me know.
Congratulations to your son!!!

Does anyone know definitively when TCU will announce their EA decisions?
12/19
The last part was confusing to me. Isn’t ED “binding” - the part of about “acceptance of admission” by Jan 15, 2025 threw me off…
Congrats - do you know if it’s possible to be notified of a particular scholarship level, but also still be a candidate for higher level (like Chancellor’s)? Just curious
