Final interview date finally approaching… I will be driving 4 hours to be able to attend it, I really hope I get in. Its been a looong proccess.
I hope to get into Miami region or Orlando… I heard they are expanding to central Florida! That would be exciting:-) But maybe not until next year:-(

Hey everyone! I just wanted to join in the conversation and offer my support. I’m a current corps member in the Connecticut Region (teaching middle school special ed in New Haven and will be teaching Kindergarten next year). If anyone has any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. I know the waiting game is incredibly stressful.

Is anyone accepted to the CT Region for next year? Anyone preference it?

I didn’t preference in CT because I used to live there Waterbury. I hate snow so I put all my regions where it doesnt snow LOL.
I been many many times in New Haven. Are you from CT, or did you move to be part of the progam?
One month til we know the results.

:-)

I’m originally from Maine, but went to Quinnipiac. I preferenced Connecticut first when I applied. Good luck! Hopefully the month doesn’t go by toooo slowly.

I’m new on the thread, but I just had my final interview yesterday and I’m already getting so anxious to hear whether or not I will get an offer in a few weeks! They say it will come by 8 pm on March 6! Anyone else waiting for this?!

Hey! How did your interview go yesterday? You’re lucky you already got it out of the way! Mine is Friday.

I felt great after my interview…so now it’s out of my hands, which is a little scary but also kind of liberating. The lesson part was totally fine and actually pretty fun. I didn’t think the group portion was too bad at all, and the one-on-one was pretty intense (40 min), but I felt good about it!! Best of luck to you on Friday!

I felt great after my interview too. Everything that I responded too the corps member interviewing me said, “Perfect, great response, etc.” I do not know if that is what they are told to do, or if that is a good sign. I think my lesson plan went well, I was little nervous and felt like I stuttered a bit, but everyone just stared at me when I asked if there were any questions. I am just sooooo nervous for March and HOPE I get accepted!!!

Congrats to both of you on good interviews!

thanks chikvicious! good luck to you on Friday! let us know how it goes.

and congrats, zettibetti, i’m glad your interview went well! The anticipation is going to be killing me these next few weeks, I want this so badly!

Good luck chikvicious! I’m sure you did well!! Let us know! Kelly, these next few weeks will be killer! I’m so nervous! I’m just so afraid of being let down. Did you leave with a super positive vibe, or do you think everyone feels that way when they leave?

I wish more people would post! The previous threads have so many people!

Hi everyone, I am new to the thread.

I interviewed on Wednesday, and left with a really good feeling. From talking with others in my group, I think everyone else felt similar. Unfortunately, I have some friends who applied last year who thought their interviews went great, and they didn’t end up getting in. I am trying to prepare for the worst, but I really can’t imagine myself doing anything else next year!

March 6 can’t come soon enough!

Hi guys! I’m new here and applied for 4DL and waiting just like everyone else.

Does anyone know how TFA evaluates everyone? How much weight is the final interview? Also, two of my friends who skipped the phone interview got in, but 2 others who had a phone interview did not get in. Does that really matter at the end of the day?

The phone interview is just if they need more information; it doesn’t at all mean you are more or less likely to get in. I was talking to someone who does final interviews, and she said that there were some people who hadn’t had a phone interview that she could tell right away that they would have been weeded out then if they’d had one. They are looking for certain things, and if your application looks like you have them, you’ll skip the phone interview. If they aren’t sure, you’ll get a phone interview, and if it looks like you don’t have them, you won’t even get that.

Thanks for that info BookAddict! When you said " They are looking for certain things, and if your application looks like you have them, you’ll skip the phone interview. ", what things do they look for specifically?

Hey supergirl. I feel the same way! I think my interview yesterday went well, but it seems like everyone pretty much leaves feeling that same way. I’m thinking back now and wondering if its a good thing or bad thing that in the one on one I was asked mostly questions I was asked in the phone interview and it was only 30 mins. I also was the one who kept the group activity going and i volunteered to go first for the lesson plan but now I’m thinking that could come off as overbearing. Ugh I hate this waiting game! There were also people in my group who showed up late (5 mins and 30 mins) and they had shakey lessons so if they get picked I really won’t understand what they’re looking for!

Yay, this is so exciting, we have many new people joining our WAITING game hahah…we can entertain ourselves! My interview was really great! I loved our day. I had 3 people shoing up late!!! One was 45 minutes wait(kinda rude)… Anyways, I volunteered to go first as well and I read that was a good thing, so chikcicious I think we did good.
I actually got to the interview place 1 hour before and got to prepare myself better:-) The role play about the student government was pretty interesting, did everyone do that???

I was the first to be one on one interviewed… so I was out of there by 12:15!! Easy day. Now waitinggg I can’t wait to know!
I wish I knew what is the weight of the lesson plan on the final decision, I felt like 6 out of the 9 people that were there didn’t do a good job at all… I loved 2 of the the other lessons… How many people were interviewig with you guuys???
