AHHH! judgment day has arrived! just woke up… four hours of sleep hahah. will be glued to my laptop all day. good luck everyone!!

12 hours!!.

Smarques- I got that template from the previous pages. They used it during 1DL and 2DL! Its great! Thanks for reposting it for everyone

Good luck everyone!! It was great getting to know you. As I said before, I wish we had our own 4DL thread to keep in touch :)

Best wishes to everyone! From what I’ve read, we seem like passionate people and creative people who’ll use whatever happens ~12 hrs from now as a way to change the world around us. It’s been wonderful sharing in the expectation. Good luck, and may we all make a difference! :-)

i had 2 dreams last night – 1 where i got accepted and 1 where i got rejected (aka a nightmare). ~11 hrs.

i’m really regretting the regions I highly preferred now. at the time I was having a bad semester and the thought of moving far away from friends and family was not what I wanted, so I highly preferred two (probably popular) regions nearby. now I wish I hadn’t limited myself. someone told me they don’t even look at your preferred regions unless you’ve been waitlisted? this worries me – i’d be totally fine being placed in those regions, I just thought I was putting more weight on my first two. agghh.

good luck everyone! of course my phone keeps vibrating with gmail notifications, i wonder if they’ll keep us waiting until after 8pm… I work tonight but that’s not going to stop me from checking my phone every 5 minutes

Good luck everyone! My fingers remain crossed.

Oh TFA dreams- in my dream they called all Applicants to their headquarters and passed put envelopes. One type of envelope had acceptance letters and the other had tickets for a cruise. Ha either you were accepted or they sent you off to the Caribbean!
Unfortunately I went on a cruise.

HAHAHA! laine, that is hilarious… but that would be a pretty nice rejection

…so being a crazy person i looked back through this thread to see the times people got notified, and the last two rounds got the news around 5-6pm… i think by logging into the application site. So im hoping its the same for us.

Those were the times I noticed as well!
I did see somewhere that those placed in Hawaii found out even earlier like 2pm. This brought up the idea that they may notify by region.
Who knows. Even knowing this info I’ve probably checked 8 times and it’s not even 10:30 here!

I got an email from a recruiter last night…first time I ever received one from a recruiter. Can’t wait until this evening. I’m so EXCITED!!!

Same here, Laine! And by the way your dream is hilarious! But notifying based on region would make sense, wouldn’t it? I just know that as soon as the first person finds out here it’s going to send everyone into a frenzy of anticipation!

and husker090, I’m glad you got an email! I know the recruiter one I got yesterday almost made me scream when I saw who it was from…but then nope, just some nice words of support and encouragement! I really do appreciate how wonderful the support system from TFA has been just as applicants. I’ve never just felt like I’m just a number to them, you know?

In other news, I have a 2.5 hour class tonight at 4…eep! It’ll be a tough night to pay attention, that’s for sure. I might have to make frequent “bathroom breaks” to sneak over to the computer clusters and check email/ the TFA website!

Can anybody confirm what the Prez wrote on the previous page? If that it true, I royally screwed myself by only putting two highly preferred regions. I really would be OK going to any of my preferred regions!

idk, i feel like they’ll place you anywhere you listed regardless of preference, they said don’t pick any region you wouldn’t want to go to. And i’ve heard that people get placed in their least preferred choices. I picked a ton of west coast regions, i’m from LA and put that highly preferred I would love to be back there, so now im kinda mad that I left NYC on my list, im tired of the cold lol

laine, your dream made me laugh… at least a cruise is a consolation prize.

and olyguy, don’t take what I said as truth – someone mentioned it to me but I literally have no idea if that is right. I was hoping someone else might have some input.

Hey guys!

Just wanted to let you know your answer could come sooner than 8pm. I’m in California and I found out I had been accepted (3rd deadline) at around 2:30pm pacific time. I kept refreshing the website and eventually it changed! The email did not come for a couple hours after so keep checking the website just in case!

Good luck everyone!

OlyGuy, I’m fairly certain that your preferenced regions hold no weight on whether or not you are accepted. The TFA staff in CT told me that they look at your preferenced regions AFTER you’ve been accepted to the corps. It is possible, though, that you may not be placed in either of the two regions you preferenced if there is no more space (some regions are already filled by now), or if your certification area is not available for some reason.

Also…last year I received my acceptance email at around 3:00pm, so keep checking everyone! GOOD LUCK!!! You all seem so passionate about the mission!

From what my interviewer told me they go through your highly preferred in the order you ranked it, and if there’s an opening in the first that’s the one you go to. And they go down the list just like that until they find an opening.

Hey everybody,

I’m excited for everyone to find out about their status today Whether good or bad, just know that you all have options, and there are various ways to get involved in solving the education gap. For those that aren’t yet aware, I was placed on early notification last week and found out that I would not be joining the 2012 Corps. I was very fatigued for a couple days, but that feeling went away - and if any of you aren’t accepted, I promise that the ‘empty feeling’ will vanish after a couple days as well.

I honestly expect the majority of you to be accepted into the 2012 Corps; however, for those that aren’t accepted, keep your chins up and continue to open doors - other opportunities will present themselves if you are willing to seek them.

As for me, I won’t be working with the education gap this year; however, I’ve officially accepted a position to be a consultant for the national headquarters of my fraternal organization. I’ll be traveling around the country working with college students and ensuring that they’re on the right path toward following their dreams The position doesn’t start until June, so until then, I’ll be finishing the writing and production for my band’s debut album and training for a half marathon.

Good luck everyone!

I’m soooooo nervous! I haven’t been able to focus at all today!!!

I am keeping my fingers crossed for all of us. I really hope we all get good news!

Positive thoughts for everyone!
