@readytoteach and MinorityDreamer sigh now yall have me a bit nervous. I have to take the HS science test as well.

Question for those that are accepting. If you are still in school, what address are you giving them to deliver pre-insitute work? I don’t know whether to use my apt./dorm address or my permanent address back home. They say to use a more permanent one if your current address is expected to change in late spring/summer (which it is).

Does it really matter? What did you guys do?

@Crazygolfer68, I gave my mom’s address (essentially permanent address back home.)

@Tkass87, I know :-/ But, we do have plenty of time to study
I’m pretty sure we will do fine.

Im already certified to teach history in ny , so I’m hoping i’ll be exempt from the praxis exams.

@uconn2013, I am probably not going to follow this thread anymore that much (sorry, no offense guys haha)… so if you want to keep in touch through facebook or something my email is mflana4@uic.edu !

I am already getting nervous about these praxis exams… seriously !! this is definitely the disadvantage to teaching high school science- harder praxis exams :(

Is anyone else waiting to hear if they got an interview? I’m nervous! I applied for TFA in 2010 when I graduated college and was rejected and am applying again as a 3L in law school with a lot more leadership experience.

I am waiting to hear. I also applied 2 years ago, in the Spring of 2011 before I graduated from my undergraduate program. I made it all the way to the final interview and never got it. I was really bummed about it. I applied last year and only made it to the phone interview. Now through teaching a lot, and starting my master’s I feel I am more prepared and I really hope it goes better this time around.

Just wondering if anyone else on here has applied for the third deadline?

yup, I did! tomorrow we find out about the interview so I guess I’m just waiting until then!

Good luck everyone! =)

Yes good luck everyone! I wonder what time we will hear!

I would say anywhere from 3.30-6.00 eastern

@mflana4, I understand! I’m nervous about the praxis as well, and I’ll be teaching high school science too.

Good luck, everyone! I was recently accepted; so if you need any guidance, don’t hesitate to shoot me an email, or message up here :)

Hey guys,

Just checked the application center and I got a phone interview but I haven’t gotten an email yet so some of yall may want to do that. Any suggestions on how to prepare for the phone interview?

I was trying to ignore the urge to keep checking the application center and then my phone went off and the email was there in my notification bar.

@TFA app I am a recently accepted corp member so the whole process is super recent. The best advice is just to practice, practice…PRACTICE. Practice on friends, neighbors, parents, siblings, anyone who will give you some time. Then just go into it with confidence and do your best to have no regrets and really show who you are!

@Minority Dreamer I am super nervous about praxis exams too! When are you going to start preparing for the tests and how are you going to start studying?

I got a phone interview too!

@TFApp, be as genuine as possible. Honestly, state exactly how you feel, and practice among your friends, family, yourself (haha.) Good luck! I really didn’t practice w/any family or friends though - my friends aren’t really into learning (ouch) so I practiced w/myself and I wrote a list of possible questions my interviewer would ask.

@Teacherhopeful, I probably won’t begin studying until next month (Around the 1st of Dec.) I’ll order a few study guides online, study from those and old study guides I made in science classes. How are you studying?
