@senioritisacutis I told myself the same. But I am also telling myself to think positively and to speak it into existence. So all today I have been going back and forth between those two lol.

Ahhh! had my interview yesterday, was the only guy out of 7 people-did ya’ll apply to transitional funding yet? It has no bearing on admissions right? I just want to find out ASAP, I’m not trying to wait all the way until January 7th haha that’s forever from now!!

From the past posts it seems like if your transitional goes to complete it is a good indication you have been accepted but there was a few who it was not a good sign for.

Are you saying it changed for people and then they were rejected?

Supposedly if it changes to complete, it means you’re in. However, this is all hearsay and I’m not applying for TF until after I find out if I’m in the corps or not. Much less hassle and headache :)

SenioritisAcutis-Gotcha haha I just applied and it was actually super easy, just had to take a screenshot of my online bank account and have my parents send their last tax return! Anything to cut down the monthlong wait haha

It was only about one or two people who had complete and did not get in I believe…Everyone else who had complete got in. It is so hard to say. To be honest thought I will probably keep checking the status just to see.

@SenioritisAcutis, I’m so glad you said that! I feel the same way. I know that I worked so hard for everything and that I also put my best foot forward. I didn’t leaving feeling like I “should have done something different” or whatever. I think thats the only good feeling I can have right now, because nothing is certain for like 33 days! So as long as we stick with that, we should be ok. And also just like you said, if we don’t get in, it’s just not right for us.

I felt so weird putting away all my stuff from the lesson plan. I still haven’t thrown it away, though I have no idea what I would use all these poster boards/arts and craft stuff for. I also did not apply for TF but I don’t think I’m going to. So I guess I won’t have that early indication!

I would say the question I’m getting most now is… “So if this doesn’t work out are you going to apply for other jobs?” And my answer is always confused. Obviously I’ll have to do something… but nothing else seems to be rewarding right now. And other jobs seem so boring, like just working in a lab or something. Yikes. Anyone else having this feeling or getting this question?

After being accepting to the corps…will we ever need to submit official transcripts again? Maybe for teacher certification? IDK

I would hold onto them just in case. For most teacher certifications you need to submit them.

How was everyone’s group activity? There were only 4 people in mine so I’m worried I didn’t show enough effort to get others involved since everyone was already having an easy time contributing equally…

@mattack, i also had a small group, and the interviewers were typing the whole time so they didnt really participate either. however, i think its ok. they probably take that into consideration. did you have your interview today? how did it go?

@mattack I did not even think to try to get others involved. There were five people in my group and it seemed like we were all trying to get in everything we wanted to say. It was pretty hard.

@taffiedog it was OK thanks for asking!! It’s kind of hard to read how it went since they were clearly trying to show objectivity while still being very nice, how about you?

@lea It was definitely similar here! I actually knew 2 of the other 3 people already and we were all very friendly but there was obvious competition to say valuable things…

yeah i totally agree! i think the role play was my strongest part. im really comfortable with that kind of stuff so it came naturally. i just got a full time job for over the winter break that starts monday and ends january 18th, so im really happy to have something to take my mind off of all this! at the same time though, i think its really great that we’re all freaking out together. my friends that are not applying to tfa are like, just forget about it! and i’m like noooo i can’t

I am so relieved and happy to see that so many ppl are stressing about this January 7th decision just like me!! lol I was beginning to think that I was crazy, but best of luck to everyone! Even if we don’t make the TFA '13 Corps it is important to remember that the children still need excellent teachers AND counselors! So do NOT stop with TFA, pursue a career in education because these kids need to see that education can change their lives.

@nolakid So judging from your screenname you’re from New Orleans? Did you put that for highly preferred?

What did everyone put for their highly preferred? Nashville was my #1…and how about the high need area? Dallas here!

I put Jacksonville, Atlanta, Dallas, Vegas and Houston, then in my #5 position I have New Orleans, Boston, and Nashville.

@alisenwonderland yes I did. New Orleans is home for me so I put it as #1, South Louisiana as #2, and Atlanta as #3 in my Highly preferred portion.
