I just had my interview in Seattle the other day. Man this wait is killing me and it has only been a few days. Why must the 3dl have such a long wait!

I’m with you Seattle! I just want to know already so I can start applying to other jobs haha…has anyone who applied for TF had an update in their supporting documents being confirmed?

There is a large chance that I will go crazy prior to January 7th.

Find some way to occupy yourself for the next month
It’ll make time go by so much more quickly!! I’m going to learn how to knit as soon as finals are done with. I expect I’ll have a billion scarves by the time second semester rolls around.

@senioritisacutis lol that’s funny that’s what I’ve been doing. I just knitted me and my mother an inifinity scarf. Her birthday is coming up so I’m knitting her two scarfs and making her some homemade bath salt. I got the bath salt idea from tumblr. But knitting really does get your mind off things. I think I’m going to knit my friend a hooded baby blanket too. That would definitely occupy some time.

From what I understand, you had to rank a high need area in your highly preferred list. I ended up with 11 regions in that section. And yes I feel like if I am picked I will be Dallas special education. Lol

I have been checking my transitional funding nonstop!! No change yet =( maybe you could have preferences a high need area anywhere? I am not sure

Hmm lea415 I think you just had to put a high-needs region somewhere in your rankings, not necessarily your highly preferred. I chose Dallas as my only high-needs region and it was in my least preferred.

Has anyone from the 3rd Deadline had a transitional funding “complete” on the second page yet?

I had my Teach For America Interview last week. I was one of four males, the only of which was not in a suit! But I was still wearing nice slacks, a nice shirt, and a nice tie. Anyway, I volunteered first to present my lesson plan. I was hoping that would show I am not afraid, which would ultimately earn me some points with the decision makers. On the whole, I thought my lesson went well. I was one of the few applicants who actually allotted time for a couple questions to be asked. But since I was first, I had to warm up the other applicants to get them to participate. I thought the rest of the applicants did really well.

One applicant really led my group activity. He did most of the talking and helped get others involved. I made a few points. I stumbled one of my sentences, but I recovered. I thought everyone was equal. Except for the one applicant who really led the way, we all contributed around the same. Hard to judge what exactly they are looking for here. The recruiter typed the whole time. It looked like he was barely paying that close of attention to be honest with you.

The one-on-one interview: I have no idea how I did. But Im leaning towards the bad side. There were a couple questions that I found strange. And most of the questions were repeat questions from the phone interview. Were the looking for consistency? My recruiter didnt show much emotion or seem all that interested. I felt like I did well on the role play, although Im not sure if they were looking for persuasion or a level headed conversation? The applicant who went before me lasted over an hour in the one-one-one interview. I went second, and it already seemed like my applicant was tired and just wanted to move on with more interviews. I was sort of bummed out. I didnt feel like any new questions were asked or the recruiter gave me much chance to shine, although I could have been a lot better on my own.

Anyway, so thats how it went. Now its a waiting game.

@deerizy I think they don’t show emotion on purpose. I was stressing about that as well and a lot of people have told me they are not really suppose to show emotion. Another thing the person before you probably did not have a phone interview so the interviewer had to get more information from them. My one-on-one interview went about the same but when she asked if I wanted to add anything I did. After that I asked her questions about her experience and what drove her to want to be apart of Teach for America.

Yeah my interviewer was totally nice and laughed sometimes, but definitely couldn’t get a read on her (on purpose, i’m sure, as other people have said). Oh also the Madre made me apply for transitional funding and mine hasn’t changed to complete yet (still under review). :)

No changes in TF here! None of my documents have even been confirmed…does that happen even if we don’t get a change from Under Review to Complete?

Do they go on break or something or will they be working through the holidays? I thought they go on vacation or something and thats why we get notified later.

[Countdown to Jan 7, 2013 7:00 PM in Springfield](<a href=“Countdown Timer – Time since Jan 7, 2013 7:00 pm started in Springfield, Massachusetts”>Countdown Timer – Time since Jan 7, 2013 7:00 pm started in Springfield, Massachusetts)

Good thing Christmas is coming! It will be a nice distraction. I would think we will find out around 4 or 5. I got my e-mail for the final interview at 3.30 eastern.

I think it is supposed to come after 8PM EST on the 7th! I don’t think final interview day had a specified notification time did it?

oh man if we find out that early i’ll be at work! i know xmas is approaching and yes it will be a distraction, but how much more would you relax and enjoy yourself if we just knew?! ahhh, i want to be accepted! this wait is WILD.

8pm?! ugh…When I did this two years ago I knew around 4.30 pm. Obviously it was not good lol

You applied two years ago Lea?
