Teacher graded a paper without grading the entire thing.

My teacher gave me a 65 after reading through the 2nd page (out of 5) and on those first two pages were decent comments. This teacher is known for heavily commenting on B-range papers. But he just told me to see him and gave me a 65. Admittedly I handed in my first draft by accident but it was pretty much the same thing as my final draft without a few grammar mistakes (long story short, I didn’t have a draft so I faked a draft). What should I do now? I’m lost because this has been one of the lowest grades I have ever gotten.

Your teacher (as well as I) might be suspicious of plagiarism…especially since you said you faked a draft.

I’d suck it up and see your teacher.

The more likely scenario is he finished the second page, realized that the paper warranted a low grade, and skimmed the rest to confirm. Since you admitted you turned in the incorrect assignment, you should be thankful that you got a 65.

Since he told you to see him, go see him. I’m not quite sure what other answer you are hoping to receive.

by faking i meant i took my final draft and changed a few words and didn’t indent. and he wrote good comments. (This usually implies a good grade.

When you saw him, what did he say?.?

haven’t seen him yet but how should i approach him.

After class: “Hi, Mr. Smith. You said I should see you about my English grade. Will this afternoon after school be OK? In room 103? Thanks.”

I’m sure your teacher will tell you that there was no reason for the teacher to finish reading the paper. He could tell you put no effort into it. Why should he work harder on your paper than you did? So go see him, as everyone one else here has suggested. But then, go home and change your MO. If you are on this site you must be interested in being a student, at least on some level. US schools are designed so nearly anyone can succeed. Start being one of those that does. It’s time.
