I think cartera was talking about his anti-gay, anti-choice stances, not that he prays. One can be a Chrstian and still believe that gays are loved by God.

anti gay stance…link?..and preserving human life is regressive social policy?

Furthermore, his strong support of the Focus on Family may be guilt by asociation, but that group has stated several times that gays do not face discrimination.

I take back post #157.

If I didn’t know better…I would think the game is fixed and GB’s receivers are throwing the game…

They are awful…

“preserving human life is regressive social policy”

for me personally, it is if it doesn’t also apply to the death penalty and if it interferes with free will. that is just me, and I am hopeful that this thread will not be closed for being too political. Watching the Giants beat the Packers is painful enough.

Agreed. I went 0-4 this weekend,

The Giants deserved to win…they wanted it more and played better…

Should be a good game… The 49ers vs the Giants.

Getting closer to my dream 49ers/Ravens matchup.

Getting closer to my dream…the 49ers vs anybody…:)

Getting closer to my dream - Pats vs Giants - hopefully with a different outcome this time.

Boooooooo…

It seemed like GB’s receivers wanted to lose it as much as the refs wanted them to win it!

I agree with geeps that the cameras are searching for Tebow. I don’t find him “in your face,” rather just being who he is. I really like him. He strikes me as consistent and humble. He has stated that he does not think God takes sides in football which I agree with. He is incredibly gracious with his team and coaches and very generous with his time and money. His philanthropic work is not anything he seeks attention for, the press does that for him.

I understand why his affiliation with Focus on the Family is controversial, but not why his thanking God for his opportunities is.

And if Tebow prayed to Mecca after every touchdown? Would that be “in your face”? It’s easy to like a guy who believes in your religion, but maybe not so easy if he’s being who he is, and he is someone of a faith you don’t believe in.

I really don’t care who Tebow prays to…

I’m not thrilled that he supports an organization thst demeanizes other human beings… But he is young…

I hope he has a good career…and doesn’t help beat the 49ers…

As for the topic of the thread…Tebow is never going to be as good as Tom Brady…there are so few that arguably are…

Tebow kind of reminds me a little of Joe Kapp…except…Joe Kapp was probably better…but Tebow might be able to have a career that exceeds Joe Kapp’s. Too early to say…

cardinal - I’d have no issue with someone of another religion behaving in a similar fashion as Tebow. I think it’s great to be open minded, inquisitive, and informed about all religions. I have friends of many faiths and I can respect their choices and admire their consistency, grace, etc. even though it’s not my choice. FWIW, I’m not thrilled with any organization that demeanizes other human being either.
Back to the OP: Brady was much better than Tebow yesterday! I am not surprised by that outcome, but I am very surprised with the Giants game!

If Tebow was a devout Muslim or Jew, would his faith be celebrated to the same degree? I don’t think so. Be and in-your-face Christian–OK. Other faiths, not allowed.

Not sayin’ i agree with this, but I think this is hwo John Q Public thinks.

Tebow is so yesterday!!! Yay for Giants–they beat the Packers AND the refs!

CBS has asked the losing QB from Saturday to be an in-studio comentator for the Patriots game against Baltimore. Just shoot me now…

This will guarantee that TVs all across New England are turned off during the pre-game show. What? They couldn’t get Rex Ryan?

Oh thank, um, whoever, neither of them is doing the NFC game.
