Wow! Our D was almost born in the elevator but I’m glad that mom decided to lay down in the lobby of her hotel! Cool story!

Hooray! I just finished our taxes! Two states this year. What a pain–and what a relief!

Congrats, atomom. HUGE deal. Multiple states are a PIA.

I installed TurboTax.

I have been working on taxes all week. Finding mistakes. Should finish 2 returns and one extension filing tomorrow.

If I am going to die any time soon, I hope it is before the next tax season.

Taxes were so much simpler when I was single, decades ago. I think CPAs are worth every penny in preserving our marital harmony!

In the home stretch. Getting my foot cast off on Monday after sitting in it for 6 weeks!!!

The worst thing about taxes is the need to track down all the info!!! After that, plugging it into TurboTax is not a problem.

Filled, e-filed, and accepted by the IRS. Thank you, Ms. X, for our big fat refund. We will be buying you a Powerwall with that money.

Yippee! Finally heard from my insurer that they are reversing themselves and now agree that I DO need the oxygen that I have been using for nearly the past two years! They just wanted more copies of the tests that were done to confirm that I indeed still need it–don’t know people who would keep and use something they don’t NEED, but I guess that possibility exists.

Today, I had to give them more paperwork to show that I still needed the oxygen last year as well. Oh well, thank goodness for scanners and emails, plus a nice customer service person whose dad had to fight for months with insurer so HE could get oxygen as well. She’s been immensely helpful!

Our daughter in law asked my husband to hood her at graduation in two weeks!! We are so excited.

My friend is mom of the bride and having a dinner party. I asked what we can bring to it and she said the dad’s mom is fond of key lime pie.

I found a friend who is a baker and will be baking me two calamansi + lilikoi pies, plus two individual chicken pot pies for lunch. I can’t wait and it’s a win/win because she’s an awesome baker, friend of a friend and I’m happy to be her customer plus want to help out both her and mom of bride.

If it turns out as awesome as I expect it will, we will likely become regular customers.

My son was just granted Swedish citizenship!

^^^^ Jealous!! Aren’t they the happiest people on earth?

D has two paintings and a drawing in a gallery exhibit. It’s a start…

Thirty year old married daughter is expecting a baby girl. It will be our first grandchild.

@ams5796, you’ll have to join The Grandparent Thread

Thank you @VaBluebird. I’m going over there to check it out!

My client decided today to extend my contract. They’ve been saying they might not have budget, but they’ve decided they can’t live without me (at least for the moment).

My D has been a long distance runner for the past 12 years. She had some major health set backs early in high school and then was able to get back at it, albeit slower than she would have been otherwise.

She has now run 7 marathons in 5 states. She called me a few weeks ago saying that there was a marathon to be run near her med school and the dean of medical students was offering scholarship money to the fastest male and female med students.

She ran the race, thought another female had beat her out, and went about her business. She has found out that the student that beat her is in a different program, the scholarships are for MD students only, and that she was awarded the scholarship.

Had a great MD appointment today. He told me that I’m doing very well — better than projected. He says to keep doing what I am.
