Oh yeah, the reason I think I’m exceeding expectations is because I DO have my liquid O2 and use it as prescribed and have upped my cardiovascular fitness!
Thank goodness my insurer has finally decided that I do in fact retroactively qualify for it for all the time I’ve had it and until we have to repeat all of this around 7/2019!
My son in Beirut is going to accompany his Syrian girlfriend to an economic forum in St. Petersburg, Russia next week! I can’t believe how much kids these days get to experience.
I just got back from a vacation in Chicago with my wife. I lost my wallet on Mother’s Day somewhere between the Sears Tower and our hotel. When I found out, I retraced my steps and, not finding it, wrote it off, cancelled the credit card, tried to forget the lost $282 cash, and went about with the rest of our plans.
A young woman found it in the street and turned it in to the hotel near there. A manager at the hotel called around to other area hotels to see if he could locate me. I got it back, cash and all, about an hour before we had to leave for our return flight. Karma points all around.
My D09 had her one year review at her job. She got a promotion and a $10K raise! I wish I could get a $10K raise, lol. She offered to help me pay for S17’s tuition and I was able to tell her no, thank you, put that money in your retirement fund.
@techmom99, what a double delight for you. That raise is excellent but her offering to help pay her brother’s tuition is priceless! @Magnetron Thanks for the reminder that there are decent and honest people out there.
@doschicos - Thank you and yes, she is a lovely young woman. I am so proud of her. I am also proud of S17. The first question he asked on his way home was when he could donate blood again.
About 2 months ago I ran into a friend and she told me that she wanted to get into fitness, so I suggested she join the run/walk training I am part of. That didn’t work out for her, but yesterday she messaged me that she has now been walking regularly (even in the rain) and doing stretching exercises and the I am her inspiration! She also said that she thought I was eager to do this every day, but I let her know that many days it’s hard for me to get motivated too.
I was sitting at the library. Then, all of the sudden, a small toddler peeks through the conference room. I smiled and waved at her. In response, she beamed back. Such a pure and wholesome smile. Made my day
Everyone but my office got invited to a luncheon, because we are not full time, “just” 30 hr/week. My boss declined her own invite and brought us all pizza instead.
Had a great time with Mom celebrating Mothers’ Day. She seemed so happy and asked if we could do dinner and movies on a regular basis. I hadn’t realized that she was bored and lonely now that both of her best friends are gone. Dad just isn’t a good substitute for her girlfriends. I’ll be happy to step in.
Was able to get $80+ refunded for being overcharged and overpaying for a medication for my beloved elder. They’re working on the pre-authorization for the other Rx(es). Hopefully I will get a refund on that as well.
The OB/Gyn says since I’m doing so well post-menopause, we can orobsblt switch to visits every other year instead of annually, after next year’s PAP smear.
Sad that the opera cancelled one of its 3 shows for 2018-19 but glad we were able to send an email requesting a refund of the subscription price we paid for that cancelled show. They are also sending my folks their refund check.
Best of all, it looks like the nebulized medications are making a big difference in better breathing for our beloved elder and he has more energy and is looking and acting much livelier. Phew. The pneumonia and hospital were scary!
Had a great first phone interview for a job that fits all my priority criteria…home office, working in the community with developmentally disabled low-income clients, decent benefits. Second interview coming up, I just hope they pay well enough. I’ve turned down a few jobs because the pay was so low and it couldn’t be justified with the lousy benefit packages so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
I received 4 very nice letters of support for our grant application with our BCBS insurer. Here’s hoping they give us the requested funding so we can make the event as great as we’d like it to be!
Also won an appeal of a denial of my pre-authorization for the medical treatment ordered by all 3 of my lung specialist, WITH supporting documentation.
Sheesh, glad to have won but really disappointed that it was dragged out since March until now with veiled threats I might be sent to collections—really?!?!?! Anyway, glad to have the denial overturned!
