Portwest (makers of the pants) website has a sizing chart. I used that and then called their customer service to confirm that sizes on chart were accurate.
We have a monthly evening dinner event with about 20 people. It was supposed to be tonight but weather caused a rescheduling. I had already bought the ingredients for the couscous I was going to bring. And we are heading out of town in a few days. So it was time to pivot and cook for the next few days. The English cucumbers and the dill became cucumber salad (also added cherry tomatoes I need to use up), the large tomatoes and parsley went into tomato sauce for last night’s dinner where I made spaghetti and meatballs, adding more of the parsley into the meatballs. I still have a lemon, mint and more parsley and dill left over (plus the large container of pearl couscous but that will keep) but at least it didn’t all go to waste! The other ingredients were already on hand and won’t go bad.

They estimate there were 5,500 dogs and 16,500 people. They take ‘this’ picture three times, at 10, 11, and noon so that people can come and go.

Son has gotten permission to WFH tomorrow - he consults with Meta and they were all approved to WFH due to travel impacts. Son’s apartment building emailed tenants that it would be busy even though they’re not on the direct route. And not to let anyone tailgate into the garage/building. They’re two blocks from the parade finish. He’s going to go out just to enjoy the vibe, if not to actually see the victory parade.

I drive people to medical appointments through a program run by the local community center.
Yesterday I drove a widowed gentleman who is lonely and in financial distress due to his wife’s medical bills.
He wasn’t a member of the community center and was unaware of the many programs offered such as financial assistance, pay as little as you like luncheons, and more.
On the way back from his appointment we stopped by the community center and I bought him a membership. Before we left we peeked into the lunch room. As we left he commented “it looks like the female/male ratio is about 2 to 1.”
We both smiled.

I go to comedy shows regularly, but one recent show really stood out. Caroline Rhea was absolutely hilarious, but more than that … she is such a genuine, nice person who loves what she does. In a time filled with stress, she provided a brief respite filled with sunshine. I felt wonderful afterwards, and it was a very good feeling.

I have always loved bridges and civil engineering projects. Yesterday faraway S1 sent me a link out of the blue; it was about ice and a famous bridge just with a note “Made me think of you, I love you”

So mundane for most but got teeth cleaned today by new dental hygienist. Actually a pleasant experience for first time ever. You can’t imagine how much better my outlook on going to the dentist just improved.

I was literally just talking to dh about how getting this crown replaced last month was the first time in forever that I had no pain through the multiple visits and how I wondered whether it was the new dentist or changes in me or both.

Congratulations! I hated getting my teeth cleaned when I was younger. About 40 years ago, my dentist got a new hygienist who was amazing. We’ve been “together” ever since, and now she’s retiring at age 70. I’m so bummed! A good hygienist is an amazing person to have in our lives.

My dental hygienist snowbirds (like everyone in my area lol). This winter I had to go to another person, I am happy to report that I will be reunited with her for my summer cleaning.
We are the same age, every time I go, I think it will be my last as she will retire.
I have to know if her daughter ever gets married. Is she ever going to be a grandma. How’s her mom?

My daughter’s best friend from middle school has had a hard 15 months. Her mother died after getting an infection at age 60, she was very sick herself, and her husband was waiting for a liver transplant. Her husband got his new liver this week and is doing well. They are only 30 years old and have already been through a lot so this was very good news.
