Because all you stupid boys still wouldn’t let us! Even as late as the 1950’s, most women’s colleges were just finishing schools with a higher tuition and books to buy. Once women got on nearly equal footing as boys, we’ve definitely proven ourselves to be at the very least as capable as boys, if not more so, considering the handicaps we’ve had to deal with!

Women contributed a lot of important stuff to the academic universe…while pretending to be men, because there was no other way to get published.

Besides, women are better leaders.

Are we going to get into a debate as to which gender is better? (:

You have to admit that women still enjoy certain “rights”(I don’t know how else to describe it). Such as men being viewed as inherently devious while women are seen as white as an angel. For example, when it comes to teachers having “relations” with students, it’s far more common for it to occur between female teachers and male students than the other way around, yet despite this fact, the men are much more harshly dealt with when being sentenced. Most women even get off with a suspension.

Sex is very different for each gender. For men, sexual enjoyment is about 90% physical, and for women it’s about 90% emotional. So, a male teacher is most likely using his female student for his own pleasure, while a female teacher likely has a serious emotional attachment to her pupil.

How about the fact that women still only make 75 cents for every dollar a man makes in an identical position?

Are you kidding? Men don’t have to contend with being called derogatory names like b---- and hos. They make more money for the same job, and are more likely to be promoted even when skill level is equal.

“Relations” between teachers and students? There are a lot more female teachers than male ones. Men are almost always the murderers and rapists in this world. Actually, just last year my Quiz Bowl coach got arrested for supposedly (I say “supposedly” because I don’t think the trial is over) soliciting sex from a “14-year-old girl” (i.e. an investigator) online–creepy.

I actually did this debate in my debate class…we get to choose our own partners and opponents. My partner (a girl) and I decided to go up against these two really arrogant guys. We chose a values debate, men vs. women. The flipside was that the women (us) argued that men were better and the men (them) argued that women were better…sadly enough, my partner and I won. But we were just better debaters, that’s all :D

Just wondering, were we supposed to send PSAT scores in any way with our application? My school doesn’t list on transcript.

That’s awfully ironic, Fridgey-dear.

Ugh, I can’t imagine that. In yearbook last year, our advisor had a student teacher who always really creeped all the girls out when they were alone with them… Near the end of his stay here, he actually kissed a friend of mine, unwillingly on her part. She didn’t report it, and I hate to think that he’s out there in contact with young girls all the time… Makes me all queasy.

Dancegoddess, no, TASP doesn’t really care. It’s all about the essays.

Donny-diddly, have we stunned you into silence with our clearly impervious arguments and flawless reasoning and truth?

Cira, those stats seem like bull, because I know that isn’t true for me. Then again, we have established I’m not the man’s man archetype. (:

Fridge, men have to deal with all the other swears, and there is certain pressure on men to be no emotion/all physical. Believe me, It isn’t a HUGE pressure, but I have had people ask me before if I was gay due to me not exuding the “pro-football/let’s go a huntin’ mentality.” I’m no sissy, I’ve just got other interests, like stuff like TASP.

Speaking on the 75 cents per dollar, I think it’s something you all can afford for the “rights” I talked about before. You guys are always given preference over men, think Titanic’s “Women and children first!”, and how you are treated more daintly by society than men. Also, that price difference has to due with women taking time-off for baby time.

Earil – that /is/ really creepy shudders
The teacher at my school really showed no indication of perversions on his part. And he certainly never tried anything with the students at our school. At least, not that I know of. For all I know, he might be innocent.

Another scandal that broke this year was that one kid at my school (that I didn’t know–6000 students @_@) and his friend from another district just decidedly to kill another guy because he was “bored.” I don’t even think the trial has begun for that one yet…

There are different social standards, I agree. For example:

A guy is with more than one girl; he is a “pimp,” cool, someone for other guys to look up to.
A girl has been with more than one guy, she’s a “slut,” a “whore,” etc.

Donny, maybe if the male architects of the Titanic hadn’t been so overconfident as to not provide enough lifeboats for everyone, they wouldn’t have felt the guilt that caused them to enact such a policy. I think in their final moments, they realized the mistake they’d made all their lives in putting themselves above women, and tried to rectify it by giving women another chance.

Because all women want and are able to have babies, right? Because they will definitely spend a quarter of their time breastfeeding and delivering and not working at all? Why not pay them fairly when they’re at work being productive and only cut their pay a little if they actually take a leave of absence. It’s not like we chose to be the ones with the uteri.

The guy responsible for the sinking of the Titanic was a drunk MALE captain.
The responsibility lies upon your half of the species, Hudson. :P

i am so freakin outta the loop, darn.lol.
wanna refresh me people?

We’re you kidding about the first paragraph!? All of the men didn’t simultaneously have an epiphany as the boat sank and decided to let the gals off first. It was propriety that drove them; if more men had gotten of the boat than women, you know that the guys would get some definite flack once the reached landside for not upholding certain social standards, i.e. being a gentlemen by putting women first above all else.
Also, it makes no difference that the architects were male, what does is that they were overconfident in thinking that the boat couldn’t sink. This has nothing to do with gender.

I never said I agreed with the baby tax on your wage, I just said that was another reasoning by the people that pay the wages.

MLS, men are better than women, Cira and Fridge were just about to agree with me. (: You probably should too.

panic - the basic consensus is that girls rule, boys drool.
However, Hudson continues to deny this fact…

Yes, Donny-dear, we’ll be in remedial Jokes 101 together.

Men are more confident than women, Donny.

Yes, and the reasoning is BS.

hudson you were baking give up the ghost and bow in the face of women.

i mean your attributes align with those of what women do more than men.
baking, watching sex and the city.

It’s decided then! Tomorrow, I go to school in a dress. (:
I do do “manly” things, but posting them on here would be overcompensating.
