Telluride Association Summer Program ( TASP ) 2008

healthcare should be government regulated at least partially. if they want to run about like they are big business then monitor them or something. i dont know about taking the whole thing over or splitting the cost. but at least be on their butts.

and have old people live only on their pensions or whatever?

idk… what about savings? 401K? mutual funds? (wow, my econ teacher would be proud :)) kids? (lol ok, maybe not so much on the last one… altho’ i admit, i do owe my parents quite a lot).

keep healthcare private to maintain competition, yet regulate it strictly so people aren’t getting ripped off.

i’m just saying that people should take responsibility for their actions, not have other people pay for them

Uh, sorry to break the flow and all, but about when do the interview acceptances start going out?

EDIT: Yeah, 2AM. Just checked the TASP website, and it says mid-march.

people from last year have said they got it early march. but most definitely IN march sometime lol.

elmo i feel you on that point. the problem i have is that i feel like everyone is getting overcharged and underserviced. regulation should be put into effect, the worst that can happen is it doesnt work.

ok i was totally reading throught last year’s tasp thread and i want it to be march sooo bad, like omg i want to know if i made it through. alas it is only feb 9th :frowning:
it was so cute though all the thread owning inner circle kiddies got in. that is uber adorable.

March also means end of the goddamn SAT’s for me. and activities. yeah, it’s gonna be a busy month. hope we all get in. i can just imagine our ecstatic threads celebrating. if i get a rejection, i just don’t know what i’m going to do.

yeah like everyone i know are taking them in march, i feel left out.
most people that didnt get in just left the last thread but i dont want that to happen. : (
but it would be sooo awesome if we all made it. cira, elmo, fridge, donny, and mls tasp interviewees, then taspers.

Actually, I believe iriseyes and a few others didn’t get in… It was really sad to read that.

That whole thread reads like a drama. Someone should write it into a stage production! [/theaternerd]

o really? bummer i was skipping around cuz i mean it was over 500 pages. one day was like 40.
you should do it disney and sell it to disney.

^^nice one… make into another high school life TV series that revolves around TASP.

Hey, everybody. Sorry I haven’t checked in lately, stuff has been going on. Actually, I just finished my first day of work.
Speaking on social security, I’m against(did you really have to guess?) It should be my responsibility to take care of my own skin. As well, now that the baby-boomers are about to retire, they are going to sap the pot dry for the rest of us youngin’s. People need to stop thinking that they need the government’s support/permission for everything. The government bows to us, not the other way around.
Just to pop this in, I love my job. They pay under the table(in cash), meaning the middle man government is taken out of the money exchange from my boss to me. I’m going to start a fund and get my stuff in line so that by the time that I retire, I’ll be fine, as it should be done.
Another thing. WE NEED TO KEEP THIS THREAD ALIVE. It’s the only thing keeping me sane until TASP starts sending out interview notifications. You wouldn’t want me to go crazy would you?

hey, somebody’s on (finally!) not wanting to sound like an economist, but if you don’t plan on using your money for a while, donny, put it in a certificate of deposit. they have like 5.5% interest (which is REALLY good), and cna really make your money grow. only drawback is that you can’t touch the money for like a year or so.
also, you have less to spend on the ladies :). but that’s not such a bad thing.

Cause everybody knows I spend my money on the ladies. (:
Thanks for the rec. If you couldn’t tell, I was trying to be vague about what I was EXACTLY going to do with the money, because funds and stocks and all that other financial mumbo jumbo is still foreign to me. Haven’t taken economics yet.

Donde estan mis amigos de la computadora?

estoy aqui ahora, pero voy a salir por cuatros horas. adios. no se donde estan los otras amigos
(i probably just made like 20 spanish grammar errors, but o well)

I’m pretty sure “mis amigos” doesn’t pertain to me…

But, I agree, what happened? I sort of liked the days when I would come back to this thread to see fifty more pages. Now it’s only two or three…

I was just wondering…

Why is it that so few people actually know about TASP? Or is it just because people are too lazy to actually write the essays? Because a thing like TASP… It just seems like heaven on earth. And I don’t understand why it’s not uber uber uber applied to.

I dunno about you guys, but I’m freaking nervous. And ssccuurredd…

On a side note, did anybody take their SATs in January?
Commiserate with me. The scores come out on Valentine’s Day…

^^ takin’ it in March. (hopefully first and last attempt) but i don’t wanna talk about it. SAT’s give me headaches

for some reason, not everybody can get on at the same time, only 2 or 3

I took it in Jan. too. I could care less about Valentine’s day. All I care about is my scores.

“mis amigos” pertains to everybody on the thread, secshisuhee. (: So, was it your first time taking the SAT’s?

I took it in January. I’m really scared to find out my scores…
