Telluride Association Summer Program ( TASP ) 2008

I used to hate cheesecake when I was younger. I still have video of my three-year-old friend’s birthday party during which I began crying because the only cake was cheesecake (which, as I said, I hated).

Now I can’t get enough.

i wanna make one of those. but the ingredients are artery clogging to read. :(

Were teenagers! Now is the time to be chalking up our arteries with fattie fats!

Personal beliefs vs. service to community…

Once again, there is no universal law that applies to all situations. Some circumstances are simply more extreme than others. For example, even if I had to register with selective service (which I obviously don’t), I would probably be exempt from a draft anyway on the grounds of “conscientious objection”–religious reasons, which I find perfectly legitimate (there are regulations on how conscientious objection can be applied).

But some people have racist personal beliefs, sexist personal beliefs, etc. that are not only detrimental to the American system (define that as you wish) but illegal. As long as your personal beliefs don’t violate the “rights” of others as guaranteed by the government, then it is fine to practice them in whatever way you wish.

The child obesity rate is horrendous though.

My parents are thinking about buying a bread-maker. That’s the most exciting thing that has happened in my life as of late. How about you guys?

lol. dont worry im quite a hypocrite, last time i had a cheesecake i torn it up.
my school’s debate team sells them and they always have some sitting in the freezer and people bring spoons its crazy.

im not going to school cuz it is a PSD day. do you have those hudson ?, seeing as your the other south florida person here. that’s all my excitement.

Really? Our orchestra sells them to raise money for their big Chicago field trip. They sometimes have free samples at the concerts (which I go to because my brother plays viola) to get people to buy them, and I grab, like, eight plates of samples every time.

What is a PSD day?

yes really. ive never seen preppy kids acting in such a disgusting manner publicly. lol.

they are a Godsend. like at my school im there from 930-430. early release days we get out at only 230, but on PSD days we get out at 12. it is awesome. a total treat.

I’ve got school tomorrow. ):

and i love music but i was never disciplined enough to do it. I’ve been through the violin, bass clarinet, piano, and of course the required recorder lol.

you should hide out in your crawl space donny. your school doesnt have Any PSD days?

School starts at 9:30!!?!
School for me starts at 7:15 and ends at 2:10.
I wake up at 5:30 so I can catch the bus at 6:20.
So I get to trudge through 6 in deep snow in negative temp wind chills before the sun even comes up and with the wind lashing at my face as I fight my way to the busstop, which is at the end of my street.
Then I get to walk a total of 1.5 miles over the course of the day between the three high schools on campus from class to class.

And your school starts at 9:30! WHY ME!?

What’s a PSD?

three campuses bummer. and yes 930. i wake up at 745 to catch the bus at 830. the most i ever have to wear is a sweater.
i despise my school though cuz it is always so crowded.i always look disheveled by the end of the day.

donny it is like a glorified early release day.

My “school” is pretty crowded too. 5800 students. No one knows anyone else. The anonymity is kind of cool though, at times.

It’s a jungle, trying to fight your way up staircases, trying to get slow people in front of you to move faster, squeezing through a current of students moving in the opposite direction…

WOW that is huge. my school is like half that, and we are overcrowded already. i mostly recognize everyone. but i know only a few dozen people.

I’m guessing that you guys have to go to bed soon?

At my school, once you get into the upper-level courses, like AP and specialized honors classes, you end up mixing in with the same people over and over, so it’s kind of a smaller community. And the “gifted” students from middle school get to take harder classes and are a year or two ahead in certain subjects, so we get to see each other quite a bit. But every once in a while you end up in class where you don’t recognize a single person. It’s a bit intimidating.

nope not going to school. and i took a nap earlier. im all pumped up.
you know i used to think michigan was in a different time zone.

No early releases in near sight for me. ):

I have to go beddy bye unfortunately. Bye to all…

bummer. your school is evil.

do either of you have to wear uniforms?

oh i know the feeling fridge, ive looked at the same kids since 6th grade, and im soo used to being in classes with upperclassmen. and that one kid in a class of non-familiars is sooo introvert inducing. like i dont see anyone i know and im like dude.
