no uniforms at my school… thank gosh. gonna brush my teeth. be back in cinco minutos.

No official uniforms. The general trend is towards all that “fake” prep stuff (you know what I mean) but I refuse to buy into that.

To be honest, I wouldn’t mind uniforms that much, as long as they aren’t too dorky. The sameness would be kind of soothing, and I think a lot of kids around here would be less anxious about their appearance. Somewhat.

Although, this time of year we’re all wearing marshmallow winter coats and fourteen layers of clothes anyway. Apparently everyone I know is going to Hawaii or southern California over mid-winter break. I’m stuck up here in the cold.

::looks down in mock shame::
my name is My Little Socialist and im a AE addict, with a love for hoodies, jeans, and old high tops.

lol the kids at my school wear abercrombie. i don’t… but they do…

what is mid-winter break?

I don’t even know where I get my clothes. I guess it would be the ultimate testament to my nerdiness to say that most of my clothes are club t-shirts and AP class shirts.

“AP class shirts” you have those???
o dear fridge that is not the way a despot should dress.

Mid-winter break is a week that we get off every February (right now, in my case) for no apparent reason except that it’s kind of cold and nobody really wants to go to school. I think a lot of Midwestern states have a mid-winter break; I don’t know about other regions.

Hey! Those shirts were practically free! (Our school system wastes all kinds of money on useless stuff.) A dictator must be frugal and pragmatic. And my nerdiness frightens people.

i wish i had a mid-heat break. sticky is no weather worth going outside in. people sweat…and then stink, not cool. <<< no pun intended.

like a female kim jong il?

I’d like to think I have more fashion sense than Kim Jong Il.

I just don’t like spending money on things like clothes. I already bought a new winter coat this year, a scarf, a pair of boots, and two new pairs of gloves. Semper paratus.

but you gotta love the power.

Of course. Kim Jong Il’s powers to brainwash millions of people are unsurpassed.

semper paratus?

and at least you got the essentials. for me that just means having some shorts in stock. hehe. i can waste aways money at times.

I’m the typical Indian (Gujrati) miser, I’ll admit. I hate parting with money.

Semper paratus = motto of the U.S. Coast Guard (incidentally) = always ready (for the weather, in this case)

oooo. and if michigan is bummin you out may i suggest a change to warmer climates. maybe visit family in india.

girls and clothes… pfft:)

btw, we were going to have mid-winter break, but had a couple canceled days, so they canceled mid-winter break to make up the lost school days.

I would die in India. The only time I could go would be during the summer, and I would probably get heat stroke or something. And burned to a crisp (I have somewhat light skin for an Indian).

ahh i imagine fridge coming back as a raisin. and elmo just cuz you dont wear any clothing…

I probably have fewer clothes than you do, D-Yu…so whatever ;)

Too bad about losing your break. We can only have 4 canceled school days during the year. After that, we have to start making them up at the end of the year, which is kind of stupid…
