Well, when a person says “empire,” they usually go straight to the idea of the British Empire, but a state doesn’t need to have colonies to be an imperialistic state. An empire is any state that has wide-reaching control/influence over another state. Westernization is a effect of American Imperialism, for example.

british drive on the left side cuz in the olden days, knights approach each other so that their sword (right) arm faced the opposing rider. sucks to be a left-handed knight.

and measuring ingredients would be WAY easier with metric

Well, you’d be a queen, but you surpassed that status when you announced yourself to be a dictator.
I suppose I shall crown you “Our Exalted Leader of the Prosperous Land of Asia.”

There’s a place in London where they drive on the right! It’s right outside this famous theater, and it’s different because all the ladies complained about having to cross the street in their long gowns, getting them necessarily wet and puddly, it being London, of course. So they changed it there! [/random knowledge]

A challenge–let them joust! I’ll sit on the sidelines and watch them charge…and once they knock each other out, I shall seize power while no one is looking.

!!!
I tried out for Teen Jeopardy last fall. Needless to say, I didn’t make it despite knowing the answer to practically every question on their qualifying test…I heard the selection was partially randomized. The questions on the Teen version are so easy in comparison to the adult version. My genius brother made it to the second ground; I hand my head is shame. But I will vindicate myself by taking over Asia.

And of course Earil can have a role in my sprawling bureaucracy! But no assassination attempts; that could get ugly.

Do you guys know what “New World Order” means?
In 1991, Bush Senior, then President, made that statement in a speech about the fall of the Berlin Wall, which was symbolic of the fall of Communism. Anyway when he said that, he was really saying, “America is now the world’s only superpower, and as such, we’re the boss.”
That gave me the creeps when I found it out. It’s so…arrogant.

Yeah, except for the mountain range ones. Kind of random there. I knew most of the questions for the episode… How do you try out?

Eh, I understand. We’re the biggest kids on the playground, and people are going to listen to us, whether we feel like being nice or mean. Can I say it’s half luck and half political Darwinism without inciting too much rage?

Earil - Every fall, I think in September, you can register on the Jeopardy website to try out for the show. Then one day they have an online qualifying exam. If you get a good score and are (randomly) selected to move on to the next round, you’ll have to go through another qualifying test and an interview (apparently one of the factors is personality??) and THEN if you are chosen, you will be on the show…all the filming is done in like two days.

I hate teen jeopardy; it’s more about pop culture info than real information.
It’s insulting how stupid they take teenagers to be. From what I hear, the qualifying test is harder than the actually game.
