Telluride Association Summer Program ( TASP ) 2008

or you could waste away your summer being a teenager.

That too…

If anyone wants to answer…most pointless/weird/memorable homework assignment ever?
The one I remember best is writing an analysis on “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” (yes, the Gordon Lightfoot song) for a Michigan History class…

umm dont remember. most likely too insignificant

In ninth grade, I wrote a tragic love story about two people who couldn’t be together because he liked smooth peanut butter and she liked crunchy.

that is a classic.

I like both. I always used to prefer smooth, but now I’m really liking crunchy. Not that anybody should nessecarily be interested in my peanut butter preferences.

New debate idea:
Which is better - crunchy or smooth?

Just kidding. Kind of.

I don’t like crunchy peanut butter
I’m a smooth sort of girl

Admittedly, crunchy is harder to spread. But it’s more peanut-y.
That must have been the most intelligent comment I’ve ever made on this thread.

Crunchy’s the only real peanut butter for me. Smooth is whale tissue butter.

Try to eat that sandwich NOW, animal lovers. Ha! Hahaha!

i dont like crunchy sometimes cuz then it is all you taste if it is in a pb&j sandwich. it takes over your mouth.

Just as well. Jelly’s whale spleen lining.

panic -
Really? I never noticed; I probably have insensitive taste buds anyway.
But we all know that manly men prefer crunchy, as do the girls who can beat them up.

But I like smooth too. It varies with my mood; if I’m more mellow I’ll go for smooth, if I’m more angsty I’ll go for crunchy…

Mm, whale offal…

My mother has only ever bought smooth. I don’t know if I’ve actually tried crunchy before.

Okay, officially clean behind the ears. Now what, all?

I’m not going to have a snow day tomorrow WHIIIIIIIIINE! . AND we had an early dismissal today on the one day when we’re actually doing something really really cool in my afternoon classes (we’re doing a lab in Physics that involves unboiled eggs and bungee cords).

My Physics class rocks the sheets. And I’m eating a New York Peppermint Pattie. I wonder how those were named?

A New York Peppermint Pattie, not a York Peppermint Pattie? Because the York ones were named after the town of their creation, York, Pennsylvania.

If anyone deserves us a snow day, it us’uns in the Detroit area. We’ve been systematically cheated and disenfranchised for the past several years. Today just dumped 8 inches in the span of 5 hours (not as much as the NE, but still…), and we still didn’t even get early dismissal. 350th page!

My student teacher in Calculus told the worse, cheesiest, oldest math joke today. Of course, the stupid corny ones are the ones I can’t help but laugh at. Here is it is:

Cos(x), sin(x) and e^(x) go out for a night on the town. Sin(x) and cos(x) are partying away, having a good time and mingling with the various other functions, but e^(x) is miserable and stands listlessly off to the side.

After a time, sin(x) and cos(x) go up to e^(x) and say “Come on, have some fun! Why don’t you integrate?”
e^(x) says, “Whats the point? It doesn’t make any difference does it?”

Does anyone else have another (preferably better) joke?

Q: What do chemists call a benzene ring with iron atoms replacing the carbon atoms?
A: A ferrous wheel

Q: Why do chemists call helium, curium and barium the medical elements?
A: Because if you can’t helium or curium, you barium!

oh that is wonderfully cheesy

my bff has a whole box of York Peppermint Patties from Costco and we’ve been trying to finish it since October, and have been unsuccessful
which probably could be attributed to the fact that we’ve hung out at my house significantly more times than hers ever since I got RockBand
with good reason
