A lovely lot by the name of The Flaming Lips. The song is “A Vein of Stars” if you want to songza it. What song are you listening to exactly? I want to listen to something new.

listening to audio a … because my browser’s too stupid to edit my other post…

Aside, by The Weakerthans. Energetic and representative of teenaged indecisiveness. Past in Present by Feist is a weird kind of awesome. Twangy with ridiculous lyrics.

Editing works for me if I edit my post, hit the save button and then refresh the page.

yeah i get the same thing cira. before it would refresh automatically, now i have to actually push the button.

Mine’s never refreshed automatically… Probably a Firefox thing.

I’m so uppity about my free/open source software. I’m seriously considering switching to Linux.

Feist is always good, and I actually dig the weakerthans.

Linux? What are you, a programmer? Or just a nerd? (:

what does that mean “open source”?

hmm… i heard linux is much more efficient than windows. anyone know anything about that?

“open source” software is pretty much synonymous with “customizable.” Like, the user can do anything and everything they want with the program or software.

People can edit and make improvements to the source code. It results in free software that’s better than the stuff you have to pay for, usually. This way, anyone with a good idea and knowledge of coding can share their stuff with the world.

Firefox is ridiculously better than IE, by the way.

My sister’s boyfriend uses Linux. I’m tempted by the fact that no one would bother to write a virus for it. I don’t run a lot of programs on my computer, just Firefox, iTunes and a word processor, so it wouldn’t be a big deal for me to switch.

i have firefox and IE but i use firefox more. i’d switch up but i dont exactly see the point.

my school and job place all uses windows. is documents made on linus compatible with windows?

If your word processor saves it as a .doc, it shouldn’t be a problem.

Elmo, you have a job? Not positive on the answer to your question, seeing as my knowledge of Linux ends at simply knowing that it exists. (:

Hey! we’re going to break 6,000 posts in like eight pages!
Also, we’re almost at 400 pages! We’re going to kick last year’s thread’s butt!

umm… yah… idk i think i mentioned it a while back… o well, things start to go fuzzy after 3000 additional posts :)

Care to enlighten us to its specialty? Are you dealing with lemonades and slushies like me? (:

yes we will donny. but now im curious about this linux technology

I probably need a job… I’m not doing anything extra curricular right now, and I feel like a loser. I’d feel obnoxious if I got one and then had to leave for six weeks this summer, though. TASP is my only hope.

Cira, I don’t give two s-h-i-t-s about my job if TASP accepts me. I’d practically dance out of the place, but seeing as it’s a kiosk, I’d only dance for about two feet before I was out the side-door. (:
