Telluride Association Summer Program ( TASP ) 2008

I dont think tako would ever be my interviewer… conflict of interest. :)

Oh yeah, I’ve already been interviewed. It was actually fun, although I’m not sure I was at all coherent. I’d have conversations like that everyday, if I were being “graded” on them. Lol.

Wait - maybe I will be interviewing you, Corey! This Saturday in San Fran?

…

Well, I guess the rest of us can mark it down to 67 spots.

(sigh) Is it April 30th yet? Or do I have to spend another month diligently avoiding my schoolwork and what not?

Let’s build a time machine so we can peek ahead.

Super TASP Special Brain Ultimate Debate Ninja Chicken Powers GO!!!

…Are we there yet?

No, not yet - go finish your McDonald’s milkshake and sit quietly. No, stop hitting your sister. : )

heheh, I know, we all feel the same way…“sorta” want this to be over :D

Just got to bring this back to the top.

I (Finally) have my interviewed scheduled! I am so stoked. I have it on Monday next week, no school because of break so I get to prep. :)

All the awesome stories from the TASP 2007 thread are taking over my central nervous system. I’m getting to the point where I just might give up a miraculous acceptance at my dream U AND a lovely Jewish lad for TASP. And there are 28 more days to survive.

It’s going to be a long, long 28 days. And no, I don’t have anything more interesting to say, so I will keep complaining over and OVER AND OVER AND OVER-

(pulled into the ether by a giant cane)

Where are you from karajanhra? Is there atleast anything exciting to do? How about spring break…

Oh, and newtexan… Sorry I didnt respond earlier :)

just about 25 days left people.
oh can you all smell the AP’s???

…Meeeeow. And no, panic, ‘I’ can’t smell the APs because I attend the only decent school in my state that continues to cling stubbornly to a stupid program with another university and won’t put in AP courses. The best part: They ARE starting to convert to AP courses - but not until I graduate. I’ll only have taken ONE AP course in my four years (AP Bio is the only class they’re putting in next year). F*** you, Blankety-Blank High School, and the cavalry you rode in on. But it’s really more F*** Me.

And that’s where I’m from, Giantredlobster: F*** Me High.

the people looking at your courses will know that. not every school has AP’s so they will judge you relative to your school. such anger dear karajanhra.

Bah. Easy to say, hard to do when 95% of their applicants’ schools have APs.

So what’s everyone doing to occupy the 25-day-and-counting purgatory? Our Drama Club’s doing Pirates of Peznance (it’s a musical about pirates), and we rocked Opening Night last night. Then we all went to Friendly’s. I got a chocolate Frizzle (it’s like a milkshake that’s actually thick all the way through), and it was super special awesome.

After this weekend, I will be gathering my Envirothon flock together to push through our last two units before the competition (which is on April 30th, and which is why I’m NOT going to hunt down my decision until the afternoon when we get back. I won’t. I won’t I won’t I won’t. I don’t want to be Envirothoning while miserable OR while dizzy with TASPy joy), studying for an exam to test out of having to take an Economic class next year, cramming in SAT prep, and running desperately to keep ahead of the behemoth that is my Advanced Physics class.

I guess I’ll be prepping for competitions, studying for APs, and trying to get some EC stuff rolling for next year. My world is very small. :D

I have to finish a research paper due the 25th about heat insulating materials in diamond composites for core bits. Sounds boring, I know.
But besides that and worrying about tasp, I really have no clue.

Tasp decides whether this years labour day will be a celebration or a sad ceremony of failure…

Ack, interviewing Wednesday in NYC…just re-read my essays…

Sigh. Scary. I just need to stop thinking about it.

And the sad thing is, I applied not really thinking I would get in, so I told all my best friends I would do our school’s summer production of Les Mis (my favorite show ever). I’m most likely moving for my senior year so I would be missing out on my last summer with my friends…

But if I get in, I HAVE to go of course =P

No you don’t. You could make some unfortunate waitlister very, veeery happy. (doe eyes)

Just got back from the 2nd night of our Pirates of Peznance musical. We rocked the sheets, again.

hey guys when and how do we actually find out our decisions? is it by mail? email? phone…?

Pirates of Penzance rules! I love that show!

I mean…I guess I wouldn’t have to go…but if I didn’t I’d feel pretty stupid and probably regret it later. I won’t be that crushed if I don’t get in.
